Horrible results day - can chemo only cure this disease?

Well result day came and went in a big bloody blur really. The main points taken in were: I am not suitable for surgical intervention. They will only do surgery if they are sure they can get 100% of the cancer but they cant remover the glands. Why is this?? I am to continue on chemo as its working really well and shrunk the tumour by 50% so far so theres no reason why it wont carry on working. (this sounds really good and I remain positive) They cannot remove the glands around the stomach so will only remove the stomach/oesophagus if the glands are totally clear of cancer which they are not at present. if the chemo does clear the glands and continues to clear the stomach tumour then surgery wont be needed anyway!? The comment was "you can have a minimum of 8 sessions of chemo but a maximum of ten" so if I finish ten sessions and its not cleared then thats it then. I have arrived in Limbo land and cant get my head around it much. Want to scream and shout and rip somebodies nuts off really. (no one inparticular - well one dodgy bird in town) I have not heard from anyone who has been cured by chemo only. Has anyone else??? Cant imagine another six months on chemo without a promise i will get better. Its one step at a time with no guarantees. What if its 7 more cycles of chemo then I am unfit for anything else but want to go off and do something with my family!!!! Am blabbing and thinking out loud but want to be positive and do some living whilst going through this. Dont think I have my head around the fact that I have cancer yet. Maybe I need to face that aswell.
