Today I'm going to write a list of a few things that have really helped since I got home from hospital. Apart from the toilet frame with handles, everything else we already had around the house.
The toilet frame with handles is brilliant. Means I can safely take myself to the toilet now without any assistance. Well worth the money.
I've always loved my heated throw that I snuggle under on the sofa on a cold day. Love it even more now.
H has a torch on a head strap for DIY. He's finding it perfect for doing my ear and eye drops, where he needs good light and both hands free.
A handbell. I can't speak yet and this is great for attracting H's attention. I try not to ring it too often!
A small rucksack. I need both hands on the stairs for the banister rail, and I like both hands free to help steady me as I walk about generally. Any small items I need to carry I can put in the rucksack.
A litter picker. Very useful for picking up items dropped on the floor when you can't fully bend down.
Last and most important tip. Always fill out puzzle books in pencil and have an eraser handy!!
