I'd been hoping for a relaxing Sunday but it soon became clear that there was little chance of that. First H needed his hair cut. Then I thought I had better tackle my fringe. Next was the laundry and bed linen changing. This also involved H having a "using the washing machine" lesson, followed by tuition on "how to put a duvet cover on".
We then did all the housework and shopping. I'm having my feeding tube fitted at the hospital tomorrow, so I probably won't be feeling up to doing too much for a few days. I might be stopping there overnight so I had to get a bag packed in case.
In between all this I have to eat 6 small meals a day, drink 2 Fortisip protein shakes, have 3 salt water rinses, do extra teeth cleaning and make sure I stay well hydrated. Since I went to the hospital on Friday I also have to do my jaw and swallowing exercises 3 times a day. Plus I'm supposed to be trying to carry on using my exercise bike daily and doing my online aerobics or yoga classes.
I came back from the hospital last time with a carrier bag full of leaflets and booklets. Some have very important instructions in, some are just generally useful. I decided that I needed to set some time aside today to properly sort it all out. So I now have a box file with the non urgent stuff in, and a plastic wallet with ongoing crucial things. All loose paperwork is now filed in plastic folders with a title label on the front. Looks very impressive but it took two hours.
When I have my jaw reconstruction operation I may have to stay in hospital for 3 weeks. We have decided that H needs to check my emails for me as I do most of our household finance and admin online, and there may be urgent things he needs to deal with. So I spent some time cancelling as many unnecessary email subscriptions as possible so that there aren't too many emails in the inbox each day. I thought I'd finally be getting some relaxation time this evening, but H has just said he needs a refresher on how to log into our online bank account.
