Sleepless night for me and my husband. This morning I use a mirror to check how the wound from yesterday's procedure is healing. Give my entire mouth a good inspection and for the first time I spot four new symptoms which are red flags for the return of my tongue cancer.
Ring the emergency 24 hour contact from the MaxFac department where I was yesterday. Tell them I appreciate that they won't discuss things over the phone but I would like to say that I'm now convinced that my cancer is back and I strongly suspect that's what they were quietly investigating yesterday with a load of questions and tests that were way over the top for the simple procedure I had. I presume that the next step will be them calling over the next few days with some excuse to get me back to the hospital so they can talk to me face to face. So can we please speed up the process, and can they let someone in the Head & Neck Cancer Dept what's happened so I get transferred to one of their emergency clinics or somewhere like that.
She says I hear all what you're saying, she'll review my file and ring back.
