We were up early this morning as H was picked up at 6.45am to go to the hospital for his prostate biopsy. He had to be there at 7.30am, but we weren't sure what time the actual operation would be because it seems that all the day surgery patients have to arrive at that time. I was relieved to get a text from him at 11.30am to say the procedure had been done and he'd just been wheeled from the recovery room to the ward. Understandably he's feeling uncomfortable down below, but apart from that he seems fine. He has to stay under observation for a few hours, but will hopefully be discharged later this afternoon.
There will presumably now be a delay in getting the biopsy results. Mine took about a week to come through, so I expect it will be around the same for H. Waiting for news is horrible. We should be getting used to it by now, but it certainly doesn't get any easier. I am trying to be optimistic. When H got his MRI scan results they said that on a scale from 1-5, where 1 is the lowest, that the likelihood of cancer is 4. However he has no symptoms, so I'm hoping that if there is a problem that it will have been caught early and be very treatable. Fingers crossed.
