Husband now on 2WW pathway

1 minute read time.

H is back from the GP Surgery.  They are referring him to a Urologist at the hospital on the 2WW pathway.  They said it is only a possibility of cancer, there can be other factors causing an enlarged prostate gland.  Fingers crossed all will be well.

I've had a busy morning.  I've had an email confirming my referral to the Birmingham Sarcoma Service.  I've also had my Macmillan Holistic Needs Assessment (HNA) done over the phone.  I found that really useful.  It took about half an hour and went into lots of detail.  I told them my main concerns are my husband, and all the travelling I'll be having to do.  They will do all they can to support me with that.

They were also able to help with the NHS app.  I don't have a smartphone so I've been struggling to open the links to my appointment letters.  I've been copying the links onto my laptop but it doesn't always work.  I now know that I can have the NHS app on my laptop.  Took me a while to get it working as my first three attempts at uploading my driving licence failed.  I got there in the end though and now I can view all my appointment letters easily.  So that was a great help.

Apparently I am going to be discussed at an MDT meeting later this afternoon, and then my Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) will ring me tomorrow with an update.

In the meanwhile I am to continue with my efforts to get as fit as possible for what might lie ahead.  I went for a long walk yesterday afternoon which I enjoyed.  Unfortunately it's raining heavily at the moment so this afternoon will be an online aerobics class.
