We had some good news today. The hospital phoned to say that H's prostate biopsy results are back, and there is no trace of cancer. They have put him down for regular 6 monthly reviews, so he will have a blood test and check up then.
We were both so relieved. It's been a horrible worrying few weeks. I've been very upset as I knew the results were due, and today is the last working day before I go into hospital on Sunday for two to three weeks for my jawbone reconstruction. I couldn't bear the thought of him getting bad news while I wasn't at home to support him, and it's been on my mind a lot lately.
I think the good news will help me deal better with my operation and recovery, as I will be able to fully concentrate on that now. We've both been wondering whatever we'd do if H got a cancer diagnosis too and we weren't able to look after each other.
I would have loved to have been able to give H a great big hug when we got the news, but sadly that's not possible at the moment with the feeding tube in my stomach.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
