I have now heard that the operation to put my feeding tube in will be on Monday 24th Nov. Back in 2013 I had the PEG feeding tube. This time I am having a RIG. Sounds very similar, main difference is that the insertion procedure doesn't involve me having to swallow any tubing.
I have been sent the paperwork to get a blood test done the week before. Thanks to the local Diagnostic Centre it was no problem getting an appointment booked. Before this Centre opened you had to either try to get an appointment at the GP Surgery, or drive 20 miles to the nearest hospital.
I've been going through my wardrobe. Fortunately my weight has been stable most of my adult life, and I usually only throw clothes away when they are worn out. I've found all the low slung trousers and jogging bottoms that I wore with my last tube, and they all fit perfectly. What I did chuck out were the front buttoning nightdresses. So I've been internet shopping and ordered some new ones.
