Busy phone day

1 minute read time.

Today was the first day this week when neither of us had phone or hospital appointments booked.  So we decided to make the most of it.  H went out to catch up with friends at a social group this morning.  Actually it used to be my weekly social group, but H started going instead a couple of months ago.  Hopefully one day we'll be able to go together.  I decided to catch up on laundry and housework.

This afternoon the plan was to snuggle up on the sofa and watch one of our favourite crime dramas.  Then the phone calls that we weren't expecting started.  They were mainly for me.  There seems to be progress with sorting out my treatment plan.  My care is being transferred to Nottingham now.  I'm on an ERAS pathway, which means Enhanced Recovery After Surgery.  The next step for me is to have an appointment at Nottingham ERAS clinic to meet the team who'll be doing my operation, and to discuss my treatment plan in detail.  Hopefully I'll get an appointment date soon.

Then I got a dietician phone review which I wasn't expecting.  This was a different dietician to the one who has been previously helping me.  So there was a lot to explain and discuss.  She seemed very pleased that I'm managing to maintain my weight.

The last call was for H from the hospital day ward where he'll be having his biopsy next Tuesday.  They said the MRSA swabs and the blood test yesterday were fine, and they reconfirmed all the arrangements.
