No, *this* is your elbow ...

1 minute read time.

And another Churchill!fail. Yesterday, you will remember, I didn't get the tummy drain I was promised because I had a radiographer appointment but no bed. And they promised faithfully that they would fit me in tomorrow.

Today I had a phone call from Omar, the doctor I spoke to on the chemo ward on Tuesday - the one who organised, or not, the drain in the first place. Tomorrow I have a bed. But the radiographer doesn't work on Fridays ...

Can I come in Monday? No, I can't come in Monday. I'm having a PICC line inserted on Monday, and I don't know how long that will take. I can't come in Tuesday, either; I have chemo on Tuesday. Oh, and by the way, I'm in pain right now.

So he went away for a bit, and then he came back and said okay, they'd insert the drain on the ward. (I've had this done before, and it seemed to work okay.) Can I come in first thing tomorrow?

Assuming we can get out of bed and through the traffic, sure. When's 'first thing'?

10.00? he suggests. Or no: make it 9.00 so they can do bloods first.

I only had bloods done on Monday, before chemo, but whatever. At this stage, I'll say yes to pretty much anything.

So, there won't be time for an update tomorrow morning. Judy and I, my bag and my bear, will once again be wending our way through the commuter traffic, in the faint but pursuing hopes of who-knows-what.

Stay tuned.

What can one say to all that palaver again ? Not much really, but I shall be keeping appendages crossed that tomorrow will bring some success for both yourself and Judy ( not to forget Java Bear, of course ) It's about time that you had a bit of something going right for a change, Hilary ...... it's not fair to leave you in pain any longer. So sending gentle hugs and I hope that you will be feeling a lot better very soon.

    Love, Joycee xxx

I am somewhat annoyed for you... And in case you can't tell, I need a sarcasticectomy as well coz I am blooming livid on your behalf. Think I'd better go to the gym to tackle a punchbag. Here's hoping it all gets resolved tomorrow. Hugs to you, Hils and to Judy and Java too. XX

What a total ***up. Another Whitehall farce, except it's a life they're messing with here. Yours. I hope PALS will take up your case and push more than strenuously for a SYSTEM which PUTS PATIENTS FIRST.

I fervently hope tomorrow passes without such incidents & that you come home on time and feeling better. I shall definitely stay tuned. Meanwhile,

Love & hugs & to Judy as well, she must be feeling shell-shocked,

    And *this* is your arse....

A big hug and positive vibes for being able to tell arses and elbows apart tomorrow....

If they don't know, I am happy to come along and give them a demonstration. I am used to showing my arse to people in hospitals and it not a pretty sight. My elbows can do some damage when they feel like it too...

The cuddlier option is snuggle Java bear and think happy things.

that is always a good option I think mind you...

I will await news while trying to blow the lab up with a bunch of teenagers.

I showed them how to distill pure alcohol today... not sure that was a *good* thing hahaa but it was fun.

All the hugs Hilary and I wish so much that things could work a bit better for you. Well, you know how that could happen of course... and the way they are going, I would say my option is possibly a viable one after all.....
