A musical interlude

Less than one minute read time.

Sometimes, when warm water and rocking aren't enough, and I'm curled up in a ball because something wants to come out of one end or the other and I wish it would make its mind up and get a move on, I sing myself a little song.

I sing, Poo, poo, my world is poo ...

Or, Daddy's taking us for a poo tomorrow, poo tomorrow, poo tomorrow ...

I got the sun in the morning and the poo at night ...

Or, of course, My grandma and your grandma/(I poo, I poo all day).

I can't say it helps, exactly, but it passes the time. Passing a motion would be better, but you can't have it all.

Hilary, you have my sympathy.  Thankfully my problems are under control now, but my first chemo cycle was a nightmare and I felt like I was haunting the loo.

I ate so much fruit and drank so much water that under normal conditions I would have been sh**ting for a week - but nothing.  I ended up on Movicol.  For the first few weeks I was having 2 sachets a day and once things got sorted out and back to normal, I cut back to one sachet at night which I still take and which works really well.  If you're still having problems after more than a week, I'd suggest you see your GP for some help (if you haven't already).

I know how miserable and ill it makes you feel so I'll be hoping things get sorted out soon.

Oh Hilary, those were the days... Rocking away singing (that was before it went the other way) You have my sympathy! It makes you feel crap.. Haha literally I guess...if you and I could meet in the middle life would be perfect.... (well poo life)

Thanks for making me snigger first thing and I used to find starting the day with a coffee and a fag got things going sometimes but not allowed the fags any more...and wouldn't dare either! And have a look at my latest blog that will be appearing shortly to see why today that sounds fond memories... Grass being greener and all that.. Or should it be brown? And actually it was awful being bunged up...

Big hug and if I squeeze hard enough would that help?? Snigger...

Oh Hilary - I feel bad laughing at your word whilst sympathising at your lack of doings.... having a mild form of IBS I seem to go the other way for a few days - shall we try to fin d ahppy medium???

((((HUGS)))) - oooooooooh.......... I remember what I used to do for my kiddies if they were bunged up - soak raisins in a mug of boiling water for a few hours........ when cooled later, drain the 'juice' and drink it - may loosen you a little .. also works with dried figs, prunes etc ;)

I can't tell you all how much I appreciate having a place I can discuss my movements - or lack thereof!

The thing is, I haven't even started chemo yet. This doesn't bode well, does it?

    Thank you, everybody!
