I can't remember the last time I went down a slide, maybe a few years ago at a soft play centre when the girls were much younger.
Last night I fell down the stairs, probably about about 8-9 steps! I tucked the girls in and then headed downstairs. On my way to the top of the stairs, I passed the landing and drew the blinds closed while passing. I think as I was pulling the cord, I took a step down, at the same time, missed a few steps as my foot slipped and landed half way sliding down to the bottom. I did scrape my back, right shoulder blade while going down. Apart from being in shock, there was no evident bruising but the tube connected from the neck area to the portacath was feeling a little tender.
This morning, I am feeling rather bruised along my right side but more worryingly, the area where the tube lies is feeling a little uncomfortable. I called the oncology unit to let them know and they said to look out for redness/swelling (there was not any) and if still painful by Thursday, they'll do an X-ray to check.
Hoping it's just normal pain after a fall and that I won't need to have the tube/portacath removed and inserted again. Not sure my body can handle a third round of general anaesthetic in such a short space of time....
