One Year On...Goodbye BooHooHoo...Hello Ho Ho Ho!!

1 minute read time.
This time last year I had just been diagnosed with breast cancer (2nd time around) and was walking round Sainsbury's like a zombie trying to work out how many brussel sprouts per person for lunch the next day... What a difference a year makes......2008 is now officially my annus horribilis (see that's not exclusive to HRH)...but it's nearly over......and in between mastectomy/chemo/side effects/radiation et al.......look at all the friends and support this wonderful side has given me. And just to make it more true to life the odd weirdo thrown in. So many special friends......scared to mention them really as don't want to leave anyone out and do like Gwyneth Paltrow on her Oscar acceptance speak and send you all to sleep but have to sneak in a couple of names. JOOLS.....you are one very special lady and don't you forget it. The cosy cottage retreat was such a special experience in bringing together such a disparate and amazing group of people......you all know who you are and I love you all. Metzy I will still be calling you for life coaching.....and Debs.....Denning insists he wants to meet Robbie very soon and they can bond whilst we discuss..........YKW!!! My New Year resolution is to work out (Jools can I borrow Jade?) how to post my "Humour in my Tumour" piece to hopefully give people a chuckle for 2009 (unless this attempt has worked)....but for now....A VERY HAPPY, PEACEFUL AND CONTENTED CHRISTMAS TO ALL YOU SPECIAL WHAT NOW USERS!!!!!!!!!!! Where to start.....firstly "Humour in Tumour" should be a chapter in your autobiography...very touching but humourous too!!!  Awe seriously though what a crappy year, heres hoping that 2009 is much better and healthier for you!!!  Was pml at the piccy of Denning in a wig, he looked like one of my ex's which is even more frightening (mental note to stop drinking as much in 2009!!)

Having never spoken to you and then being thrown into a remote cottage in the middle of bliddy no where I didn't have a clue who you were.  Like Debbie, you look nowt like your profile picture and it doesn't do you justice.  So bliddy change it cos you only look around late 30's in real life and when ur not scowling you look very pretty.  Anyways your a top bird, so have a great Xmas, get very drunk and behave very badly.

Big Hugs Metzy, Scoffy & Gizmo (who has just ran like a bat out of hell with one of my slippers downstairs!!ffs) xxxxxxxxx

Well to have all come together when this time last year we could not have imagined making so many wonderful new friends, the mind boggles as to what we can get up to next year.

I totally agree with all Metzy has said. Listen to her Di, she is soooo right in what she says.

You are a trully lovely girl. Thank you for trusting to travel 400 miles with me, when I could have turned out to be a complete looney.

cheers to you for the future

I just found this blog - I must have missed it Denning 'cos on xmas eve (when you posted it) we were having an early xmas dinner!!! Well I have already proof-read your humour-tumour novel and you know I love it - bitter sweet is how I describe it - but definately funny. I echo other comments about you - you are a very special glamorous lady and you did have a horrible 2008 (along with me and a few others) but we now move into the strange waters of 2009 - exciting and terrifying too!! I hope we both have a fabby year cos we deserve it. Stop saying nice things about me Im blushing :o) Lots and lots of love and hugs to my special shopaholic Denning, Love Jools (head girl) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

P.S. The cosy cottage retreat was all the more special for you being with us - can you pleeeeaassee tell me what you said to make the gardeners blush in Anwick Gardens???? (teeeeheeeeee)
