Debs Daily Deliberations - 42

Afternooners, Haven't blogged this early in ages.........I must be bored ;) Jack woke up complaining of a sore face (hardly suprising if you seen the way the dentist had to yank to get the two teeth out)....... but after being told very nicely but firmly by mummy (that would be me) that he wasn't having another day off school, he popped a paracetamol and took one with him for lunch (OK I did make him lunch too, I mean he didnt just have a paracetamol for lunch LOL) and got on with getting ready, he spends longer in the bathroom than me these days and no jokes about my lack of hair being the cause of that thank you very much! It really is another glorious day in this green and pleasant land of ours, a few whisps of clouds and I can hear lots of birds singing through my open backdoor. Dexter is suffering, I do believe I have one of the only dogs to be allergic to grass - EVERYTIME we mow the lawn, he itches and scratches and makes himself red raw! Hubby was up all night with him - apparently!!!!! (kinda makes up for all the nights I was up with the kids dontcha think!). I have done my grocery run to Tesco and we are having 'local dinner' = in other words I have tried to source locally produced products for our bangers & mash LOL East Anglia potatoes and broccoli, sausages come from a farm in Harlow (very close by unfortunately!) Milk is also from East Anglia Dairy Farms, I think I just fall short on the Bertolli Light and Bisto gravey. Oh and even the wholegrain mustard is from Essex for when I add a dollop or two just for Tony, Jack and myself. The onions for the gravey came from the organic farm shop just past North Weald..........so all in all pretty proud of myself for supporting local growers etc. This afternoon my friend Linda called from Florida, she's been out there for 3 years but told me she is lonely and misses home (England) and her friends.....guess the saying "the grass is always greener" aint true eh........they are going to see if business picks up between now and Christmas and if not.........they are selling up and coming home. It was good to talk to her, we met years back while working the evening shift at Tesco's....5-10pm so that we could be home for the kiddies. My eldest keeps reminding me that it was worth staying on at school and going to college to end up being a check out chick. Well, I remind him........... I had my career in London before I had children, after that I worked to fit in with the family. Cheeky bugger! Dropped off my sick certificate (the cert wasn't ill btw for those who read literally) at my managers house whilst walking to the shops, so I feel I have achieved a few things today, not much but a bit. Got some laundry out on the line and about to go and grab a cuppa tea. Thought for today: "Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day.
