Debs Daily Deliberations - 26

2 minute read time.
Evening All, I enjoyed the Eurovision despite being derided by lots of my friends on facebook LOL Got up and the weather was miserable, I was feeling good jumped into a steaming hot bath and washed my hair (such as it is) with Johnsons Baby Shampoo, got out and stood in front of a full length mirror - it was not a pleasant site!!!!!!! I thought I would be getting used to being half bald by now but NOOOOOO everytime I catch my reflection, I think OMG its me, I really am ill. Depressed me a bit, but I blowdried the back and bits of sides I have left and got dressed. Tony and I went out to B&Q for some DIY bits and bobs and went into Costa's for breakfast. I had a skinny latte (ha ha) with a big fat chocolate twist and Tony went for a cappucinno and almond croissant. We perused the papers and took our time before dashing through the rain back to the car. It was at this moment he said "you look really nice today" I didn't know whether to laugh or cry!!!!!!!!!! Whilst Tony has crept around (literally as his back is still bad) fixing things I have generally broken, I have cleaned the downstairs loo, done the laundry and tried to make my house look a little more presentable for when Mandy from Macmillan arrives at 9.30am - whatever possessed me to agree to such an early visit LOL Tonight we had Deb's version of Chicken Ceasar Salad - classic romaine lettuce, anchovies, chicken and sauce but I add croutons and crispy pancetta with an overdose of fresh parmesan shavings. Kids had a watered down take on this (no anchovies or sauce) but with breaded chicken steaks so I can kid Lara its chicken nuggets and salad ;) Not sure why I thought I'd share this nugget of information, but I drain all the fat while I am cooking into a jar......when its full I throw it away and start a new one, well today as I tipped off the fat from the pancetta I was amazed at how much my jar of fat looked like those bottles of coloured sand you can buy!! OK, Countryfile and Pacific Oceans is on and its time to snuggle up next Tony and watch. Hope everyone else has had a good weekend.........tune in tomorrow for more nonsense thinly disguised as wisdom ;) Thought for today: The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on. performance was excellent!  Definately worthy of winning.

Mmmm mouthwatering meal :P    I do exactly the same with my fat, but I went & threw it down the drain in all the Euro excitement.  I will merely smile & think of this when I'm chucking a load of sink unblocker down there.

your nonsense disguised as wisdom Deb, keep it coming.  I am going to walk into town on Wed, Market Day - been putting it off and generally drive to the car park and walk the shorted distance, this is cos I nearly got stranded one day when my batteries ran out half way back! - anyway the point to this pointless prose is that we have a Costa on this side of town and if I go early I can break the journey by stopping at Costa's for a coffee.;o))  Good one.

    Take care
