Debs Daily Deliberations - 25

3 minute read time.
Afternoon What Nowers!!! Its EUROVISION DAY!!!!!!! Yes I know its tacky and awful and we dont stand a chance due to eastern block voting but.......as a child we always watched this, all the family together with bowls of popcorn and some 'pop' if we were lucky. None of us particularly liked it, but we had fun predicting who would win and being allowed to stay up late and watch the votes come in. Well that tradition stands in my house, all those complaining of my gourmet cooking can laugh today as I have nacho's, chicken skewers, sweet chili prawns, together with dips and pitta bread, halloumi and popcorn and all kinds of really bad party food to eat, my boys really do try to get out of it, but I like traditions, they are comfortable and tell me that alls well with the world. Not overly keen on Graham Norton - I mean, Terry was king but.....I will grin and bear it. The headache has been lurking in the background today, nothing I can't cope with but every now and again it reminds me its there! Whats that all about, I lived with headaches for years, popping my 'sweets' as Tony always joked but since the big old seizure and then surgery they disappeared and lovely it was too, perhaps thats why I am a bit peeved they have resurfaced. Read in the radiotherapy leaflets that previous symptons may reoccur directly after finishing but thats normal - hmmmmmm lets hope they go away just as quick as I won't be having a follow up appointment like most. Its normally 2 weeks after finishing, but I am starting chemo after 4 weeks so decided that I could without another trek to Romford. I am kinda chuffed with myself today, I sent off my last assignment for the DPP Diploma in Pre-school Practice I have been studying from home for the last 2 years. I should have finished in March but when I had the seizure and was booked in for surgery my boss got onto the study centre and they gave me a 1 year extension. However, I did the last assignment before I went in for surgery - didn't know how well I would function after. As it turns out I am as brilliant as I was before (ha ha) just less concentration and lotsa short term memory deficits. Anyway, I printed out the assignment when I got home from hospital and put it away, even today I could not bring myself to read it through in case its absolute nonsense - after all I had so many emotions coursing through my head before surgery. Still, I've scored B's on all the others, so only need to get 40% on this one to pass the entire course. I am no longer aiming for an A or B just wanna finish and say I did it!!!!!! Well today I put it in an envelope and sent it off = ack more waiting now to hear how I did. My tutor takes no prisoners....although my boss showed me an email she received from her, she was actually quite complimentry of me, all the ones I got she gave the impression she thought I was pretty useless LOL Did a bit of shopping in town, got conned for a haircut and hubby nearly had a coronary when Jack told him it cost £7 for hairwax LOL Dropped the kids off at home and Tony and I lunched at the local pub. Not done much else today apart from some laundry. Mandy from Macmillan is coming to visit me on Monday morning and I really should clear up my lounge that resembles a foreign warzone at the moment, but you know what.......I dont care (which means I will be up very early Monday morning doing it LOL). Have a good weekend friends and weirdo's alike - no descrimination from me ;) Thought for today: Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.

it was just like that in my house too!! So I'm watching tonight at the same time as dropping into the chatroom and reading blogs, because to be honest, eurovision doesn't need all your concentration does it!! its about 8.45, song 9 and nothing special so far.  Not the same without Terry is it. And not sure I can stay up late enought to see the scoring which is the best part!! I'll have to tape it and watch tomorrow before anyone can tell me the result.  Enjoy Debs and I hope that headache stays away.

    love, Marly xx
