Tuesday I had to drag myself off the sofa (see 221 for the horror that was the Ollie Monster) and go upstairs and wake the family. Got the lunches ready after taking my Granisetron anti-nausea tab and was amazed at how well I was feeling all things considered. Usually day two marks the start of feeling crappy.....but alls well at 8am when I throw my two poisonous capsules down my throat with copious amounts of Mexican Lime Cordial (wish I found this before the last cycle). I sat and browsed the world wide web for the next hour until it was time for me to take my steroid and have some breakfast (have to take chemo on empty stomach, have to take steroid with food, can't have food for an hour after chemo tab - arghhhhh I live by the clock in the morning). I still managed a cup of tea, 2 slices of toast and 2mgs of Dexamethasone, I have usually gone off drinking hot drinks by day two but I not feeling queasy at the thought of a brew yet.
The weather had settled so I decided to take a walk to Tesco's and buy the bits I needed for Chicken Noodle Soup (as per Lara's request), it would seem this is fast becoming a household favourite and trust me, anything that all 5 of us can eat without variation is nigh on close to a bloody miracle! I also grabbed enough groceries to see us through Wednesday just in case! I am sure the fresh air did me good and couldn't believe I still didn't have a headache - thank goodness for small mercies!
Back home, groceries away, washing up done, laundry on the go I ventured into chat and may I say I met some lovely people in there and it was really great to have (drum roll please) her pinkness make a guest appearance - yep Indie I am talking about you lovey! Stayed for an hour or so and then left to prep the chicken noodle soup which I like to simmer for hours - love the whole house smelling welcoming when the kids get home. Was on a role, vacuumed the lounge and made a batch of chocolate fudge before it was time for the family to invade the peace and tranquility - well I say that, I had been listening to the Ministry of Sound Electric 80's and dancing around the kitchen to it (that counts as exercise right?).
Tuesday is karate night so when Tony got home I made him a cuppa and set about cooking some crumpets as a light snack before they head off to train. The boys decide they don't feel like training tonight - methinks Call of Duty has a bit to do with that decision - so off toddles Tony. He gets back just after 7pm and we all sit and eat our soup together. The evening is spent with the kids doing homework, PS3'ing and watching IACGMOOH. I have to admit I was getting VERY tired by 9.30pm but hung out till just after 10pm. Tony took both dogs for a long walk in the hope of wearing Ollie out. It sorta worked, he still route marched up and down my legs and sat on me several times, but this time I said no and pushed him off, he gave up fairly quickly and then proceeded to take up as much bed as possible for the duration of the night - little bugger!
Thought for today:
