Monday came round all too soon and by 8.15am I was back at home alone with the dogs. I can honestly say sometimes I quite enjoy it but mostly I miss the noise and demands of the family. The weather was bloody awful, Tony took Lara to school as she would rather go to breakfast club than walk in the rain! The boys went out in raincoats and gloves. This was a morning I was quite pleased NOT to be walking to work!
The rain broke mid-morning and the sun even peeped out from behind the clouds occassionally, so I decided I would take the risk and go to Tesco's for the sweet n sour sauce I had forgotten to buy at the weekend. I bumped into a friend we met through karate and had a chat (quite a long one it would seem) at the end of the crisp aisle and managed to get in the way of at least 20 shoppers! We talked about the recent Junior World Games in Morocco and how their eldest son is wanting to open a club and how Tony & Paul's club is going........are my kids getting any homework as their youngest doesn't seem to be........but at least I had some adult conversation during the day.
Home and I sorted the laundry out and washed up before lunch, peanut butter on a Hovis Granary baguette and a cuppa tea. Watched the daily aussie soaps (I know shame on me, but its the curse of cancer to become addicted to crap tv, thats my excuse and I am jolly well sticking to it) and the kids started arriving home, Sean first as he bikes and then Jack with his progress report. It wasn't too bad actually and then just before 4.30pm Tony came in with Lara who stays to do drama after school (like she doesn't get enough of that at home!).
Dinnertime was fast approaching and I made sweet n sour chicken with chow mein . Dinner done we had time for a cuppa and a chat before Jack, Tony & I headed off to Sawbridgeworth to visit another sixth form. Jack's interested in Business Studies, Economics, Sociology and Financial Literacy for A Levels but this school has good results and is difficult to get into, but he wont get in if he doesn't apply so......we are applying everywhere!
Home and I recorded Flash Forward as the kids wanted to see Katie going into the jungle. This is my most favourite reality tv show and as its the last one, gotta watch it. The "celebs" if you can call them that are not great this year. Kim is already grating badly on my "luvie" nerves but I lurrrrrrrrrrrrrve Gino's accent and his clockface isn't too shabby either!
Went to bed around 10.30pm but really struggled to sleep, kept waking and fidgeting and at 1.20am I heard Tony moaning and trying to prise some quilt from under me for himself........I got up and went downstairs on the sofa. Ollie spent an hour or so with me and then buggered off back upstairs. Traitor!!!!!
Thought for today:
Why? Why Not? Why Not You? Why Not Now?
