Debs Daily Deliberations 207

4 minute read time.

Monday came around all too soon and it was the usual rush of madness that is getting three kids motivated and kitted out for school. There was the first "touch of frost" today, not a great deal but definately there. Ollie doesn't like the cold wet grass (what a wuss) and promptly used our patio! Thanks Ollie!!!!!! So a quick dash out in my dressing grown and hat and poop patrol was done. Today's photographic intermissions are just white flowers.

Tony and Sean are training over in Ilford today so I had to come up with something for dinner that wouldn't weigh them down. Following on from the success of my first attempt at chicken noodle soup, I thought I'd give it another go. I had everything but spring onions and a bag of chicken stock. I know I make my own but as it evaporates and condenses I like to top it up with good chicken stock rather than water to keep the flavour maximised. So off to Tesco's I went, picked up my spring onions - now I digress a little, spring onions are now available all year round and when I scanned mine, it seems Tesco like to call them "salad onions"..ha to detract from them not being seasonal perchance?

Anyway round to aisle with the chicken stock, Tesco's finest is on offer for 75p and I do love a bargain but uh oh.......there was a problem. Off I go wandering around the store looking for a guy with the right height - found one - "excuse me, could I borrow your height please" ..... the man chuckled and said "certainly" ....... "I need your help with a 'top shelf product Wink'" ........"oh" he smiled, not sure he was too impressed when he saw it was just chicken stock but it made my shopping trip!

Home and I had remembered everything I needed including a new metal sieve and a wedding card for my cousin...SUCCESS! I prepped the soup and being a good Mum and very aware that we should all be eating our 5 a day...I threw in half a dozen carrots, a parsnip and half a red pepper. Secret veg, clever Mum!!! We wouldn't be eating them but hopefully got some of the goodness into the stock.

Kids came home from school, Lara was all excited because she got two small parts in the upcoming play - Tiny Tim and Young Scrooge - betcha can't guess what they are doing LOL The boys tease her and I shoo them off. Ahhhh my loving family Indifferent. Tony comes home looking like a bloody hobo, he and one of his workmates decided to "grow a mou for a bro" as its Prostrate Cancer awareness month. But instead of just the 'mou' they are going for full facial hair. Now I don't mind beards, I've never seen my dad without one.....but because its just starting he just looks like a tramp! He smartened up the cheeck and neck area and Lara almost freaked when he came out of the bathroom "shave it all off Dad, I don't like it". He thinks it will also save him money on razers (which are ridiculously expensive I would have to agree). We'll see how that goes!

Dinner went well, the soup was good and we had prawn crackers with it, the kids still love hearing them sizzle when you dip them in the hot soup! Sean and Tony left for Ilford, Jack had another bowl of soup and Lara did her homework. I went into chat for a bit on here, whoaaaaaa its busy in the evenings and goes pretty fast too.

Nine O'Clock and Flash Forward came on so I settled on the sofa with my cup of tea to watch. Lara went to bed at 9.15pm so it was just Jack and I here when Tony and Sean got home at 9.40pm. Another good class, Sean was happy because he got to repeatedly kick a 3rd Dan Blackbelt in the head.....BOYS!!!!!!! Sat and chatted to Tony for a bit after the show finished and was in bed by 10.20pm. No matter how tired Ollie is, when we go to bed he has a mad half hour, jumping all over the bed on and off......drives us mad, he also has to go under the covers between Tony and I for a few minutes and then and only then is he ready to curl up at the bottom! Mad bloody dog.

Thought for today:
