Debs Daily Deliberations 195

2 minute read time.

Wednesday day 3 on chemo and at least I am waking up headache free and thats a bonus on the last cycle. Got up just before 8am and let the dogs out and took my anti-nausea tablet and a big glass of orange squash. Fed the garden birds and cleared up the poop and checked on the fish in the pond, all's well in my little patch of wilderness. Time for the chemo tabs and more glugs of orange juice but I've only managed two glassfuls before 10am today - got some catching up to do. Today's photographic intermissions come from my Mum's garden this year.

Beautiful robin, my favourite garden bird.

Had some toast just after 10am along with a nice 2mgs of steroids and more orange squash - I've never been to the loo so much since I was last pregnant!!!! Sat and watched TV with the kids, then Lara made us all bacon baguettes for lunch. Very nice they were too. Sean went out to play and Lara did a bit more of her bedroom before going round her friends for the afternoon. Even Jack ventured out with some mates, I was alone with the dogs and started preparing the stew. I griddled all the veggies first - colour=flavour, so parsnips, turnip, leeks and carrots go into the vegetable stock. Next I sear the beef with garlic and thats added to the pot. Left to simmer.

Time to drag Henry out for a dance around the lounge as Ollie has chewed a loo roll tube up all over the bloomin place. Ollie isn't keen on Henry and barks and growls at him, no matter how much I encourage Ollie to come over and check him out. This done I was beginning to feel pooped already and not even walked to Tesco's! I could feel the headache building, something I have to just get on with. Later in the afternoon I added the pearl barley and gave it a good stir, the whole house smelled of delicious stew, comforting though it was I lit a couple of scented candles to counteract the smell.

Tony was doing a bit more overtime so half hour before he's due home I add the potatoes and dumplings I had made. Sean doesn't like stew so I did him some pasta and then it was time.......the stew was delicious, worth the wait. Now all I had to do was keep awake to watch the opening episode of the new series of Waterloo Road. Need to see a couple more to really make my mind up....missing Eddie already but Max is pure evil, I like that LOL It was 9pm and time for bed, set the V+ box to record NCIS:Los Angeles and will watch them tomorrow. Halfway through another cycle, woohooooooooooooooo!

Thought for today:
Even if something is left undone, everyone must take time to sit still and watch the leaves turn.

    Hi Debs

Looks like Lara is becoming a domestic goddess just like you!

Stew sounded divine. Not sure what Kev's got on the menu tonight, but I'm sure it will be delicious, especially as I dont have anything to do with it. Food tastes so much better when someone else does it for you.

    Wishing you another good day

I love my backyard birds!  They bring me a constant pleasure and joy.  Your Robins are much more attractive over there than the ones in America!  Sounds like you are making it through your days Deb!

    Best,

    Lori
