Tuesday and I was ready for my trip to Tesco's right after the kids and Tony had left for school and work. Then I remembered, if I go now I will bump into all the Mum's who have just dropped their little darlings off at pre-school and school. It will be aisle after aisle of "how are you, dont you look well......hows the treatment going" to which I answer "good thanks & you, thankyou .......... fine" am I being mean by not wanting to keep talking about it? They are just being polite after all, but some days, you just dont want the hassle. So I make another cuppa tea and sit at the computer and read the blogs on here and catch up on facebook.
Finally I am off to Tesco's, it was bloody cold out, had my coat, hat and gloves on today! Bit grey but it did look like the clouds were beginning to break up and the sun was trying really hard to shine through. First I went to the chemist to pick up my repeat prescription of Tegratol, its lasting forever because I keep forgetting to take the darn things. After my seizure and diagnosis, I took them religiously, had people reminding me because I thought if I didn't take them I would certainly be on the floor flapping like a fish - not a good look I am sure you would all agree. I even felt panic and ill if I forgot one, like lightheaded and I now know it was all in my head (like the disease) because, I've never had another seizure (well thats because of the tablets I hear you say) even after brain surgery when my neurosurgeon said would be the most critical, as a lot of the time the brain doesn't like being messed with and shows off for a few days after. Next month will be the one year anniversary of flapping like said fish in my front garden - or Tonic Clonic Seizure as the docs refer to it - always wanna say I had a Gin & Tonic Clonic - and I am hoping to talk them into letting me try to come off the tablets (I wont tell them I take probably 3 a week instead of 14 lol). I have digressed as usual, picked up my tablets and walked the other side of the carpark to Tesco's.....and as I did I took a photo on my mobile (pretended I was looking at a text tho) so you can all picture exactly where I spend all my time and Tony's hard earned cash.
Decided to bake a ham today and have some nice ham and English mustard sarnies before karate and would do the pasta when we got back. Grabbed some donuts for the kids - I hate donuts and know I won't be tempted by them. Off out into broken sunshine for the walk home. I saw two squirrels,a tiny little wren and a robin - my favourite bird, amazing.....I used to do that walk every day before and after work and never noticed much before.
I went into chat today and met Telgirl and lotsa others but I can't remember everyones name. Teri I hope whatever you got with cream from Sainsburys were good! Sliced the ham, did the washing up, ironed some clothes and the kids were home. Jack's sole had "fallen off" his shoe at school, there was nothing wrong with it before he left but apparently the whole bottom 'just fell off'. So walking around without a sole, he wore through the entire bottom of his shoe!! He borrowed a friends trainers (2 sizes too small) to walk from school to Tesco's (yes its on their way home, it features heavily in our day to day lives lol) and then his friend goes another way home. So he walked in his socks (so glad I didn't see him, how embarassed would I have been) to another friends house, who lent him another pair of trainer (2 sizes too big) for the remainder of the journey home. Three days before half-term, he couldn't have just made them last till Friday! Trainers are a big no-no at their school apart from PE, so wrote him a note in his planner to say I will get him some new shoes over half-term but he's wearing trainers (black ones so they don't look so bad) till Friday. Oh then he realised he had "mislaid" his white PE Top as well.......great day this is turning out to be!
We all have some sarnies and the kids eat donuts and we go off to karate. There is only one little girl who trains on a Tuesday, the rest are all adults and my kids who are blackbelts. She can't make the other night as she has swimming. Her mum is Japanese and her dad is English, her Mum's been fighting breast cancer for 10 years now, she has such a fantastic outlook on life and I love chatting with her. It was just us two upstairs in the viewing gallery and we walked about Christmas and their New Year traditions and the time flew by. We were soon on our way home and as we got out of the car, Sean said "isn't that a hedgehog?".....I love hedgehogs so we go closer and sure enough a little hedgehog was shuffling its way into a bush between us and the neighbours. Tony went out later to check on it, the neighbours have 3 cats that sometimes lurk around this bush and it was busy nestling itself amongst the fallen leaves, perhaps getting ready to hibernate. Might have to buy some cans of cat/dog food just in case it doesn't, its quite young. Not a great photo but I did snap away on my mobile.
Back home and none of us were hungry enough for pasta, so I settled for a cup of tea and one of Tesco's finest triple chocolate shortbread fresh from the bakery department - delicious! We watched some TV, went on our computers, I printed out some homework for the kids and Tony and Jack walked the dogs. Jack was convinced that Ollie "cocked" his leg but I don't think so, he still squats female style to widdle in the back garden lol. Hope Drew is recovering well, am missing his blogs.
Thought for today:
We all make mistakes, as the hedgehog said as he climbed off the scrubbing brush
