Firstly I have found that my status update has not worked since the 6th October, emailed the admins and Thomas kindly got back to say he'd tried to change it and yep it wasn't working.....not sure why cos everyone else's is (I like to be different lol) and it has been passed on to the tech guys.....I don't deliberately try to cause trouble - honest!!!!!
Thursday and what a glorious day it is (as everyday I am still breathing under my own steam is lol) but the sky was blue, the sun was shining and I was going to be "a lady wot lunches" as we say in Essex. Saw hubby off to work and kicked the last child outta the house just after 8am. Time for a nice bubbly bath, that done the laundry was hung out and I nosed around on the computer reading blogs and leaving comments etc before heading back upstairs to blow dry and straighten the hair that I still have. Applied body lotion, makeup and decided to wear one of my new tops. Black slacks with a cream and black striped top (supposedly slimming) black gilet, black hat all in the vain hope it would hide some of the steroid induced weight gain (well I am blaming the steroids but I have to admit to a certain amount of comfort eating too ). I pulled on my boots, grabbed my handbag and gift bag full of baby bits & bobs and headed off to the nursery. Outside I met Sue who had the "surprise" baby looking very well and the tiniest perfect little princess sleeping in her pram. Within minutes our old work colleagues were coming out of the school gates and we walked the few steps to the pub next door - what architect decided a pub next to a primary school would be good LOL
Inside and food was ordered and then I knew what was coming next, 1001 questions about my treatment and prognosis......I really didn't want to talk about Debs the brain tumour patient today, I wanted to be Debs the pre-school assistant with wacky sense of humour. I wasn't rude but glossed over what had happened recently as fast as I could and deflected the attention onto Sue. It wasn't long before we were all laughing and chatting like the old days as our food was served. I had a tuna mayonnaise baguette and a diet coke. Poor little Emily was passed around the table after the food was consumed and she was a complete star as we all "ooooooed" and "ahhhhhhhhhhhhed" over her. Didn't make me broody Tony don't worry darling
Before I knew it, it was gone 2pm and in just over an hour the kids would be home from school and I still had shopping to do! I said my goodbyes and we arranged to do it all again in a few weeks time - wohoooooo getting dressed up again and not for a hospital visit, I am all for that. Luckily everything is built around a central carpark, pub, primary school, community centre, doctors surgery with dental practice, childs health centre and Tesco's all sharing one carpark - GENIUS!!!! Rushed in and grabbed the ingrediants I need to the Chicken Pan Pasta dish and hurried home on my heeled boots, worn out but very happy.
Sean gets home first and tells me that someone had managed to snap his bike lock off his bike and move it....he thought it was stolen at first but found it hidden in the corner of the bike shed. I was not impressed so rang the school to let them know that someone was messing with the bikes during school time. Was told someone would ring me back - which didn't happen, no surprise there! Everyone else home and I cook the dinner, Sean, Tony & I left for karate with just Jack and Lara at home with dogs. Had a good natter to the parents and came home and to finish my good day - BONES was on wohooooooooo, lotsa eyecandy for me and ready for bed by 10pm.....what a good day. The kinda happy day I wish for everyone here.
Thought for today:
Those who can laugh without cause have either found the true meaning of happiness or have gone stark raving mad.
