Debs Daily Deliberations 179

2 minute read time.

Monday The kids all got ready for school rather uneventfully which I should be grateful for! Glorious peace and quiet by 8.15am and I enjoyed a quiet cuppa with some toast before getting on with me chores (sounds very Little House on The Prairie'ish). The sun was out so on with the laundry. Pottered about the garden, sunny but a tad chilly, even sat out and had a cuppa tea watching the dogs sniff around and disappear in and out of the borders.

I am still waiting for that bloomin parcel, keep emailing the woman and she says its on it way.....by giant snail I think! Wait until early afternoon just in case the courier turns up but then its off for the daily walk and grocery shop. I was inspirationless today, phoned Tony and he couldn't offer anything sensible (as usual Indifferent) so it would be a case of whatever grabbed my attention. Turns out it would be sweet n sour chicken and rice. Bumped into my old boss on the way home and she offered me a lift on Thursday to go and see our colleagues 'surprise' baby - something to look forward to.

Home and Lara rings to say she is staying behind to do drama today, the boys come in and neither has to rush to the loo (shock horror) and both say they had an OK day - wow progress LOL Tony comes in and we share a cuppa before I start the dinner, Tony and Jack are heading off to Ilford to train with another karate club tonight. Sean's on his netbook, Lara is in the bath, the dogs are curled up asleep together and I figure I might as well wash up, wasn't much to do anyway, a wok, some bowls and cutlery.......washing up done I proceeded to clean the cooker top, taking all the bits off and putting them in soak, washing drying and shining them up. Dried up, put it all away and cleaned the sink.......tadaaaaaaaaa sparkly kitchen!

Not long sat down and started watching Flash Forward when Tony and Jack some in and TALK OVER THE BLOODY TOP OF IT......I shhhhhhhhh them and tell them to wait till the advert break but give up in the end! Jack made his mum a lovely cuppa tea and I listened to how the lesson went. Jack got to spar with some much older guys and said he learnt a lot - just as well, he's agreed to do kumite at a competition in two weeks (Jack NEVER fights anyone except his brother!!!!!!!). Managed to watch the last few minutes of the programme and went to bed just after 10pm. Just wish I could get a good nights sleep, I toss and turn and wake every hour or so.....as I am awake I take myself off to the loo incase thats why I woke.......its a bit like taking a male dog on a walk, where they pee up every lamp post and after a while, they go through the motions but run out of pee....well by 4am thats me LOL Have I shared too much again??

Thought for the day:

  • Hi Debs,

Aw... I love your description "Little House on the Prairie'ish" -  My daughters (same age bracket as you) adored that programme and wondered why their own lives were not so cosy and cutesy.

Another (silly) thought - are your Border Terriers so named because they're experts at snuffling around in the flower borders?  Where do dog breeders get these names from anyway? My Flat-Coat Retrievers have coats that are not in the least bit 'flat', instead the look as if they have had a layer cut and blow-dry.

I didn't know there were so many types of Retrievers!  Our dog breed is named after where they came from the English/Scottish Borders........but I like the idea of it being from snuffling around in the flower borders!

If you saw mine chasing around the house (sliding on the tiles) and colliding into my front door, Crash Terriers would be most suitable ;)

Kate, I can remember literally running home from primary school to watch LHOTP.....I so wanted to climb a ladder into a cosy loft to sleep....closest I got was the top bunk LOL

  • Sorry to shatter your illusions, but that loft was probably infested with all sorts of bugs AND they didn't wash their clothes that often in those days!

There are lots of different retrievers: Labradors (Yellow, Black and Chocolate), Flat (Black or Liver), Golden (ranging from white to dark gold), and Curly (Black & Liver). My dogs (litter brother and sister) are black.  We like Borders and meet quite a few in our park - they're feisty without the usual terrier trait of ankle biting (lol). At least with a Border you can pick them up and wash them in the sink when they get mucky!

Regards from Bonnie & Clyde (and their mum, KateG)

You didn't miss much in flashforward last night. Its losing it a bit now.

My neice is named Carrie after the girl in Little house on the prairie and you'll have me humming the theme tune to it all night now! LOL

Kate, you know an awful lot about dogs. All i know is the ones I like and the ones I don't.

I feel a bit like I am in your house when I read your blogs debs. x x
