Debs Daily Deliberations 153

4 minute read time.
Friday morning, kids all packed off to school and Lara is walking for the first time. Big brother wouldn't take her cos - well not least they don't get on - but he knocks for a friend and often goes inside (poor excuse but.....) so she rings one of the boys up that she went fishing with all summer and arranges to meet him and some mates along the way. I make sure I take my antibiotic and get on with washing and hanging the laundry out. I have been toying with colouring my hair - what I have that is - for a couple of weeks but I am scared that because I am still quite bald around the top, my scar isn't protected and the colour will burn it. I have almost bought one three times already and then put it back. So today is going to be the day I buy it! I take some chilli beef & pork meatball mixture out of the freezer (cleverly made double portion last time and froze some) for dinner later. Off to Tesco's I go with a slight spring in my step - actually I had a pain in the top of my left leg, which worried me for a bit.....the tumour was in my right frontal lobe which governs the movement on my left side, already my left hand shakes a little from time to time and anything out of the ordinary that happens to my left side I immediately attribute to "Buttercup" (silly I know) but anyway.....the pain goes halfway there so all is ok again. I buy some Chicken Dippers (easy version of chicken balls) for Sean & Lara, sweet n sour sauce and some fresh egg noodles as they don't like the spicey meatballs. I remembered some fresh egg pasta for us and got the boys some food for tomorrow while we are out. As you can imagine being the one to cook.....I am scared to let my 15yo & 13yo loose in the kitchen while we are not there, so tomorrow they have access to a pasta pot for Sean for lunch and Jack has a pack of Chicken Sushi, there are Pepperami's and Cheesestrings and yoghurts for the afternoon and for dinner I am ashamed to say there is a Rustlers microwave Cheese n Bacon Burger each and in the freezer there are "Fries to go" microwave chips!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know they can handle turning the dial to 2mins and go........without hopefully burning the house down - fingers crossed. So now to the hair colour aisle and I settle for Natural Light Brown by L'Oreal Excellence 10. Home and lunch consisted of Philadephia extra light cheese and Ritz crackers......dunno why but I fancied them. Hung some more laundry out and got ready for the hair experience. I was scared and had to take several deep breaths before applying the colour......I waited expected my scar to tingle and burn because since RT and losing my hair, the scar has been exposed and less protected. However, I waited the 10mins (how fast is that nowadays) and no burning......I am glad they have made some "quickie colours" as I have to leave my glasses off and the less time spent blind the better as far as I am concerned. So now I am darker than natural light brown, but more like my natural colour without the silver sprinkles. I didn't get all the grey, but I didn't massage the colour in as well as I could.....but having less than an inch above your ears going straight into a full shoulder length bob around the sides and back is not easy to work with for a pre-school assistant - however, its so much better and as I flounce my hair its mirror shiney and not to mention cashmere touch LMAO Just before everyone is due home from school I remember that I forgot (does that make sense LOL) the tomato sauce for the meatballs.....GREAT. Thankfully Sean gets home and is more than keen to go get it, for an extra couple of pound for him to spend. Jack and Tony head off to Argos to get a much anticipated DS game that was finally released...........but they came home with Guitar Hero 5 for the PS3......hmmmmmmm. Apparently it will keep the boys occupied tomorrow when they are looking after the dogs as Jack's game has been put back to October for release. Who are you kidding Tony - not me matey!!!!!!!!!!!!! So while I was cooking I heard a new version of All Along The Watchtower, performed by Tony Rockin Perry.........doubt it will make the charts tho ;) I had to virtually threaten to turn the electricity off to get all the kids (including Tony) to the table for dinner, which was eaten in record time unsurprisingly. Debbie (purdybru) whooped my arse at scrabble on FB and went to bed having read that Liz had become a Granny.......an excellent finish to my Friday. Tomorrow I am going to London, so what to wear.....comfortable shoes and I need a warm jacket for the evening....but I have to carry it around all day.......oh decisions decisions!!!!!!! Have a wonderful weekend folks. Thought for yesterday: Birth is the sudden opening of a window, through which you look out upon a stupendous prospect. For what has happened? A miracle. You have exchanged nothing for the possibility of everything. William MacNeile Dixon
