Debs Daily Deliberations 152

3 minute read time.
Thursday and by 8.15am there is quiet in the house except for Ollie snoring rather loudly on the sofa. I take myself off for a long relaxing soak in the bath using one of the many bottles of bubbles I have accumalated since being "sick", why does everyone think a bath makes everything better ?!? "" anyway I now smell gorgeous and carefully pick my way to the bedroom as Ollie likes to lick the bubbles off your legs as you get out of the bath (weird dog). Get dressed and blowdry my "mullet". Have another cuppa tea and nosey around facebook. There was intermittant sun by now so off to Tesco's I go for my daily exercise, I don't bother trying to think of something to do for dinner on the way anymore......besides since surgery my multitasking days are over.....I would probably walk out into the road while "thinking"...so instead as I go into the store I wait for that lightning bolt jolt of inspiration.......was a little late in coming today and not exactly inspirational. Back home and several loads of washing later it was lunchtime.....I had a sausage roll and a couple of slices of really thickly cut fresh seeded bread with Bertolli Light (so I should be losing weight right oh hang on what about the sausage roll LOL) and a cuppa tea. I can't tell you why I fancied this, but it was bloody lovely and I just hope the fresh bread doesn't give me heartburn later. I decided to check in at the What Now chatroom just after 1pm......empty :( so I got the ironing board out and ironed 4 PE shirts, 1 girls blouse, removed one old karate badge and ironed 3 gi's (suits) ready for tonight. I printed off 4 8th Kyu (red belt) certificates for children that had been on holiday and figured it was time to get the dinner going. In went four large jacket potato's into the oven. The kids start arriving home and are all on their laptops/desktop within minutes. Time to make the broccoli quiche and into the oven to join the baked spuds. Cafe Perry opened just after 5pm today a little earlier than usual due to karate, Sean had chili con carne with rice, Tony & Jack had jacket spuds with chili, Lara and myself had jacket spuds with broccoli quiche. I can imagine my dad shaking his head and tutting......ah well I am retired and have the time to cook different dinners! Jack and Lara are training tonight with Tony and his club, so just Sean at home with the dogs. Get to the sports hall and there has been some overbooking done - with the culprit now on holiday in Portugal. Its quite a small community hall - 3 x badminton court long. Usually keep fit have one court and the curtain divides the hall behind which Karate have one court (more if no badminton) and badminton one court. Tonight there were 2 badminton courts booked, karate and keep fit to squeeze in. Thankfully the keep fit girls (well a bit older than girls really) agree to come upstairs to the viewing gallery and use a space down the end. Only thing us parents had to do was try and talk over her music. But we got our own back by sitting and drinking tea and eating chocolate in front of them LOL The lesson went really well and tonight Tony and Paul got some sparring gloves out.......I have never seen kids so eager to get up and fight.......the target this week, Jack my 15 yo. Mia the tiniest little 5yo girl you have seen was smiling and laughing while really going at it with Jack. Jack was laughing all the way through (even tho he took a few low blows which missed both his legs if you know what I mean LOL) but I am sure Mia will be going into school to tell her friends she beat a blackbelt up last night ;) We got home and Ollie was wired, terrorising Dexter so Tony and I took them for a walk. I can't believe how quickly the nights are drawing in and how chilly it was by 8pm. Still the dogs dragged us around for a 20 minute walk and its about the only alone time Tony and I get!!!!! Home for another cuppa, bit of tv and facebook and bed......washing up can wait till tomorrow. Thought for today: The greater love is a mother's; then comes a dog's; then a sweetheart's.
