Debs Daily Deliberations 148

3 minute read time.
Sunday morning and hubby and I both wake around 8.30am first thing he says is "I've got a horrible headache, don't know about you"..................had he jinxed me??? Because I did have a headache but the kind I get when I've slept in too long. We got up and had a cuppa together and I forced down a small bowl of muesli, remembering that I had forgotten to take the Senna the night before! Shit...or no shit as it would happen LOL We've been having toilet troubles in our house (not connected to mine), pull the plug out of the bath and downstairs toilet starts glugging and filling up a bit before going down.......hmmmmmm something is wrong! So yesterday we looked at a stent pipe vent (dont ask I have no idea) and it was £41.86 which Tony thought was a bit steep, so we went to stand in line with the rest of our town, or so it would seem at Screwfix where we paid £15.00 just as well cos after much swearing and hand cutting by hubby - says on the pack that they should be fitted in the easiest possible place, he reckons our builders read that, laughed and did the opposite) we filled the bath and then pulled the plug.......still the glugging! Going to ask his dad for some chains - hope he doesn't think I am into all that malarky just cos the MRI people smack me about - and see if that does the trick. Otherwise he is starting to panic that the cordyline in our front garden has grown so big that the roots may have damaged the drain and that will cost A LOT. We called in at Tesco's on the way back as he had left his E45 cream at work for his hands and needed more, I decide that as I am feeling better I would cook a roast as I really don't like shop bought pizza's! Go home and have a quiche for lunch and cook the roastbeef. Once the meat was done we decided to take the dogs for a walk over the country park. This might have been a bit ambitious as Tony strode off around the park, through the next new housing development (some very expensive homes on there and some downright ugly ones for the money) and back around the long way to avoid the cricket match. I was starting to get slower and slower and not sure that Tony was going to notice but eventually he said, if you are getting tired you need to slow down - HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bless him LOL Home again and I could have easily just flopped on the sofa but no, I cooked the rest of the roast, potatoes, cauliflower cheese, brussel sprouts, broccoli and carrots (I forgot the yorkshire puds - ok I didn't forget, I couldnt be asked LOL) and onion gravey. It was delicious and bound to help me out in the downstairs department.....but as I type this Monday morning, the washing up is still on the side in the kitchen - gawd I hate that, but I was just too tired and no one else ever bloody offers!!!!!! Spent the evening watching Stephen Fry in Last Chance To See.........very good it was too. I can't tell you the difference not having the headache makes, I will put up with the slight nausea caused by not having been to the loo properly since last Thursday but the headaches.........they knock me out. Now all I have to get through is the pockets of disconnection, the week after chemo I find myself feeling - not quite on planet earth at times, having to focus on everything really hard and concentration is an effort. Its not constant, it comes and goes but is here for a few days. Thought for yesterday: What monstrous absurdities and paradoxes have resisted whole batteries of serious arguments, and then crumbled swiftly into dust before the ringing death-knell of a laugh! We live right on the edge of a decent sized country park and it certainly is a sress reliever. Battling round there whenever I can has certainly helped me cope and the dogs love it, water, mud and unmentionable smells all in one place. Doggy heaven!!!  I always arrive back home knackered, but relaxed. We keep intending to 'downsize' our home to help with the finances but I could'nt bear the thought of leaving the park. I always have the fear that if I dont keep an eye on it then THEY whoever they are will build on it. That would be criminal.

Everyone should live near a country park,   Bill xxx
