Debs Daily Deliberations 140

5 minute read time.
Good Sunday morning what nowers, Saturday.......woke around 8am hubby had gone to work (yaay more overtime) and went through the routine.....? who let the dogs out ? I did ;) made a cuppa, fired up the computer and a text comes in...."morning xx" from the hubby (thats as romantic as he gets folks lol) replied "how did you know I was up?"........comes back "web cam, set one up so I can keep an eye on you"........so glad that was his idea of a joke, as sitting here with panda eyes from not removing makeup before bed.......baldy head and bathrobe is not a good look and not sure why I am sharing this you....I should be telling you that I rise from my bed looking like all the soap actresses, fully made up and no bed hair!!!! Did some washing and hung it out.......washed up (with the gloves with a hole cos I keep forgetting to get another pair) and put the kettle on to boil for a cuppa when Tony got home. Sat and had a chat over a drink and then it was time.............to take the boys shoe shopping!!!! Jack complained that I hadn't given him enough warning to get ready (what is he, a girl????) and Sean my little street rat just hates shopping. Anyway we drag them out and it struck me that as they have gotten older I haven't had their feet measured, just expect them to know what size they are, so as we get out of the car I ask "do you know what sizes you need?" "nope" says Jack "but its not rocket science mum, I try one on, if it doesn't fit....I try a different size"...."ok smartass!". Turns out Jack is now a size 7 and Sean is still a size 4....so just over £100 later for two school shoes and two pairs of trainers (which I think we did pretty well and thank heavens for cheapie sports warehouses for) the boys almost run back to the car to get home! Home and Jack's back upstairs and Sean grabs his swimming things, he's off out. Lara and her friend are round my sisters doing her gardening (for money of course) so Tony and I go to the local pub for a spot of lunch. I queue behind 3 guys for hours - ok 10 mins......to order our baguettes......."oh we don't do snacks at a weekend"......back to our table and ask Tony what he whats.......we decide to order a combo starter as we aren't starving just wanting a snack before going shopping......back to the queue and I apologise that I hadn't seen the writing above the snacks where it does say Mon-Fri, the girl behind the counter says "don't worry the next guy after you tried to order a snack too, they need to make it clearer"......so combo starter ordered, sparkly water for me and Tony has a J20. It was nice picking over the breaded mushrooms, scampi, onion rings, nacho's, chicken goujons, garlic bread and potato wedges and set us up for our trip to Tesco's. We get outside and go to our car - yes he realises its ours today ;) and I walk upto the passenger door he calls out "you're driving then?".....OK folks SERIOUSLY worried about him, he's meant to be the healthy one, the look to look after the kids after I am gone etc......what???? red faced he immediately says "ooops.......done it again eh"......I ask whats the matter "aren't we in England anymore Toto?"...."yeah very funny Debs, just get in".....he he that got some mileage today as well. Tonys new club has been having some problems with the association they belong to, as in the chief instructor wants them to give up their name, their badge and website and use the association name. So in effect, hand the club over and work for him......Tony and Paul work all day for employers, this was something they had created from nothing, why hand it over? Especially as another club in Basingstoke was doing exactly the same as them. Its come to a head and looks like we are leaving the association...7 years, its sad, we are leaving lots of friends behind. So he decides "we" need cheering up and should get a new PS3.......hmmmmmmmm Tesco had a fab offer, PS3, 3 games & 2 blueray DVD's for £249 (as the new PS3 slim is coming out on 1st Sept I guess)......however....our store does not stock blueray DVD's so I ask if they come pre-packaged in the box....this is how it goes:
  • do the DVD's come pre-packed in the box? nope
  • can we exchange them for a game or money off? nope
  • so you have an offer you can't fulfill? guess so
  • that makes sense then? nah
arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh this was not going well..no snacks on saturdays, no playstation 3, at this point Tony says right.....I want burger and chips tonight, I need comfort food........not wanting to upset him anymore, we compromise on chicken burgers. Finally we get in the car and Tony's karate partner rings to say they are meeting the association head on Sunday to hand over any equipment we have....he is getting more and more pee'd off! We have said burgers (can't say I enjoyed mine much prefer our usual Sat night spread but wasn't going to complain) Tony has a long soak while Lara and I watch X-Factor - I haven't watched any reality shows so far - no big brother and I didn't watch this last week, but Lara put it on (yeah thats right, blame the 11yo lol). After that I decide its a day that requires my occassional drink I am allowed and Tony pours me a large glass of Pinot Noir and we watch Meet Dave with Eddie Murphy with the kids, wasn't too bad actually. After that I came online, played a few scrabble moves, got beat by Angela again where's your compassion for a brain tumour patient huh huh huh lol then had "tried" to chat to Kerrie on FB but it kept going on and off....got fed up, switched the computer off and made a cuppa tea......put Criminal Minds series finale on that we had recorded which Tony fell asleep halfway through - but he had been up since 4.30am......and went to bed. I didn't have a bad day.....but it wasn't the best, I don't like seeing the hubby get upset which in his case means he gets quiet and moody. Come on Sunday - be better please!!!!!!!!!!! Thought for yesterday: It is this time and this place that matter--not some other time or place. What matters is here and now--the people here and now. Daisaku Ikeda

so does this mean that the chief instructor is leaving tony's club? or that tony and his friend are leaving the association but keeping the club and its members?

Ouch at the shoes. I went to shopping 'mall' (I hate that word. I really do) on Friday - the first time for exactly a year as it happens. I wandered into Clarks looking for something vaguely summery and they have the adult stuff at the front - shop was empty I thought (so why the security guy on the door??). Two steps and I looked up - it was like an august day at Heathrow when they've cancelled all the flights! Bags everywhere, forlorn-looking kids and forlorner-looking adults sat all over the floor, weepings, wailings, tellings off, hissing under the breath, lol I didn't stay long! The joys of uniform buying!

Tony and Paul's club are leaving the association, they are keeping their club and members.  My boys both trained to blackbelt at the club/association we are leaving (as did Tony) and Jack was due to take his 2nd Dan next year.  Its sad but.......one of those things, there are other irons in the fire and onwards and upwards I say.

I am sooooooo glad the uniform is all DONE and what I haven't got now...........well tough lol

  • Love the blog first time I have been on the site for a while, they really make me laugh -sounds like your home is a chaotic as mine.

Just hitting the shops for last minute school shopping -daughter starts secondary school next week & son starts his GCSE course. Son has decided he may have chosen the wrong subjects -great timing !. Have just finished sewing on name tag number 150-I hate sewing!

My son & I both qualified for black belt first Dan Kickboxing, me when I was 44- but I had to give up after a knee injury playing in a parents football match at my daughters football club -must remember not to do that again -not sure its a good idea after chemo/surgery anyway - amazing what can happen in 2 years !!

    Keep up the blogging
