Debs Daily Deliberations 131

4 minute read time.
Morning IV flushers (not wanting to leave anyone out) Yesterday started with a cup of tea and a banana for breakfast and my cocktail of anti-seizure pill with a steroid to add a bit of texture. Came online, read all the blogs then went on facebook to catch up with friends and family. Came back here and updated my own blog. Hung some laundry out, washed up and..........went to _ _ _ _ _ (I am sure you can't guess lol). Not as hot today thankfully and a nice breeze blowing so no shorts to shock the community of Church Langley with. I had decided to make my Chicken Pan Pasta dish but the store had other idea's. Had gotten all the ingrediants and mooched down the fresh poultry section and found huge empty sections with notes hung up "due to a technical fault.........." so in the words of American Soap Opera's......... in todays episode the part of chicken will be played by turkey. Oh well its a "superfood" and I can't tell the difference really - except its cheaper LOL Found myself stocking up on cleaning liquids and cloths, I think I have been psychologically scarred by giving up my job and the realisation that housework will become my work!!!! I have mentioned before, I have always been a pretty crap housewife never had the urge to vacuum, dust and polish daily. Either been too tired after work, too tired and exhausted with the kids and later........just plain don't have the inclination! Its not a filth hole I live in, I do clean up.......when it needs it (or if we are having visitors lol) it just looks lived in, so yes sometimes there is some dust on my TV, or a pile of laundry to put away but as I now know........it aint gonna kill me!! I digress.....I am back down the household detergent aisle buying antibacterial spray with grapefruit (nice pink colour lol) and Fizzing All Purpose Cleaner for Kitchens & Bathrooms along with disposable cloths........I am scaring myself now.......I might actually have to use these bloody things and not just clogg up my cupboards with them. So today, I anti-bac all the kitchen sides to within an inch of the worksurface, add some anti-bac washing up liquid to my washing up sponge and microwave for a minute (which I do every day or so mind) so that it nukes anything nasty on it! Then I attack the handbasin in the downstairs WC.........oh and I had bought new vacuum fresheners for Henry so he smelled like a tart when I vacuumed the lounge, due to Ollie finding a tissue and promptly chewing it up and leaving it EVERYWHERE. Plugged in our new "Japanese Rituals" plugin....Tatami fragrance - just for the hubby - as I am paranoid the house might smell a bit "doggy" with two now. Wow, look at that, almost two whole paragraphs of cleaning my husband will be shocked lol. I will have to tackle the dusting at some point...I think the reason I hate it so much (other than the fact it just goes back up into the air and back down everywhere) is that we have a bookcase filled with over 40 trophies & countless medals from karate that have to be moved and dusted - ackkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk but it will keep me out of mischief for a bit today I suppose! I cooked the dinner and I enjoy the fact its one meal all 5 eat without variation! Then its off to hubbies karate club to watch and chat to the parents. He has one student who is half japanese and just back from a three week holiday over there. I chat to her mum (although I struggle with her accent) and she gets around to "why don't you do karate"......and I say I had an operation in January and have no hair on my head.........turns out she has been through radiotherapy and chemo for breast cancer. I ask if she is all clear and she says no, she has treatment every three weeks, she looks fabulous and is always smiling and laughing, my kinda cancer patient. She also volunteers at a local cancer unit, makes tea and chats to the patients. She said that when she is asked how she stays so cheerful she says "if by crying it would go away, I would cry....but it won't, so why bother" how true!!! She tells me I must eat lots of spinach and beetroot and ginger and absolutely must come round for a cup of tea sometime. She hugs me and kisses me as she leaves..........first time I have ever spoken to her......gawd don't she know us Brits aint demonstrative LMAO It was a good evening, we didn't just talk about cancer, we spoke about her holiday and husbands and mothers.......glad I went. Came home and the eldest made his mum a cuppa, watched the athletics on TV then Rick Stein....like I said the most fish I eat is smoked salmon and fresh tuna steak....although I love seafood but....I love his series.....the last one made me want to cruise down the French Rivers, especially with my own chef - could stop off and visit Lorraine. Got the washing in and folded up and time to flop into bed exhausted. Won't tell you what I woke up to this morning, will save that gem of a day starter for tomorrow - gotta keep my readers keen ;) Thought for yesterday: Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future. John F Kennedy

Yes to me its a dirty word especially dusting,  I believe that if you leave it long enough it never looks any worse.  Had to go through all the house dusting, tops of doors, skirting boards, vacuming in corners before Laurence came home from hospital with his trachi in as I had visions of all the dust in our house going in his trachi.

Oh Debs, I am sooo addicted to your daily delibrations!  I secretly pray Ollie wakes you up early to prompt you to write or any other vegetable happening takes place. And even on an uneventful day, I get dinner ideas.

The question is, when you visit your parents for a holiday do they have internet connection for you to post a blog? If not please warn us so that we can mentally prepare ourselves ;-)

I've read your deliberation about 3 times today and have, at last, worked out what _ _ _ _ _ stands for (duh!) - I think scrabble club will be beyond me :) A new mate is always good too - she sounds nice! The upside to cancer has been the more equal distribution of housework here - love it! Do quite like washing up though (not in a dishwasher either, lol). We had a similar problem with karate and football medals all along the top of the piano and solved it by putting them in their bedroom - definitely their job now! Looking forward to tomorrow's blog - I think?!?
