Debs Daily Deliberations 126

4 minute read time.
Evening All, Woke to a misty start just after 7am this morning. Let the dogs out, gave them breakfast and made myself a cuppa tea. Put out the recycling and cleared the garden of any lurking doggy doo's and out in the wheelie bin for collection. Had a banana for breakfast and took my antibiotic (mon-wed-fri's only) anti-seizure and now 0.5mg of steroids wohooooo I am on the final step to getting off them altogether. Read everyone's blogs and my emails and hung out the laundry as the mist was clearing fast and the sun was trying to break through. Ironed my clothes and Lara was up now........we are going shoe shopping today - god give me strength. However an hour later Sean's friends were at the door and Lara answered it, "Joe is at the pond, fishing".....now Joe is Lara's boyfriend from primary school......they are both 11 and their ideal date is sitting side by side......FISHING lol. She looks at me and I say "go and get some old clothes on and we'll go later"...whoooooooooosh I was knocked right back in the kitchen in the wake of her shooting upstairs. Jack and I have lunch together and I make some for when Lara gets home.......she's in, washes her hands, bolts down a cheese sarnie and then changes into "going out clothes".......insists she needs to wear her pink high heeled sandles against my good advice. We walk to the bus stop and miss one bus right off, the next one drove straight by - oh sod it, I think we are sitting at a request stop........next time I am chatting to Lara and didn't see it coming - oh FFS this is not boding well. Anyway into town and we go into the sports shop thats in the same chain I saw a decent pair of Kangaroo's in......nope they had plenty of High School Musical, Barbie and Hello Kitty - not quite secondary school style! However, she lets on her feet are killing her and the sandles hurt and oh mum we need trainers for PE......so a pair of white and lilac trainers were bought and straight on her feet......if only she had listened to me before we left home! After that we tried Clarke's........again she wasn't having them! We tried Next, BHS, M&S.........kack kack kack kack - thats my daughters opinion and please no libel cases LOL Two and a half hours later I am exhausted, I mean....proper worn out......we flop into chairs at a little cafe and order Frappes.....Tony appears and asks if we ordered him one - ermmmmmmmm no didn't know you were here yet! Walk back via Asda to grab some chicken & couscous. The kids wanted "nuggets and chips" ewwwwww but every now and again I let them have junk food - it was all oven cooked not fried. I had already bought a sauce yesterday in Tesco's their Sundried Tomato and Cinnamon Moroccan style sauce, so I open the chicken.....best before 16th August and OMG the smell........feckin rank!!!!!!!!!!! So back into the car and upto Tesco's and get some more chicken and teabags cos I forgot them earlier LOL Back home and cook the fresh non-smelly chicken in sauce for us and we have plain and simple couscous with olive oil and lemon....it was worth rushing around even though I felt physically drained after walking around the town centre for hours. Tony, Jack and myself cleaned our bowls and the boys both harped on about how good it was. Sean and Lara have their nuggets and chips with ketchup. Lara helped cook the smelly chicken (it probably wasn't that bad but I am really fussy with food) for the dogs, they were very appreciative. Now I forgot to let you know that my boss had emailed me yesterday, saying she needs to get things organised for September and how did the land lie, I explained that my NON was not keen on me returning with kids and germs and my compromised immune system. She has suggested that I "retire" and I will be offered the next available vacancy and that they have been awarded more funding which will lead to more hours or perhaps staff which I would be first in line for. This is a very small nursery and no-one leaves - its taken a brain tumour to create the first opening in four years!!!!!!!!! I can't blame her, I knew her before she opened the nursery and she is so worried that there will be swine flu at the nursery in September and my health absolutely comes first. So I have to talk it over with Tony and let her know before next Thursday........it would appear that I will be a lady of leisure soon. Kinda sad about it all. I have not worked since Nov 28th 2008, so she has already been pretty patient with me. Oh well, onwards and upwards.......not sure what the weekend will bring....if the weather is good perhaps a picnic in Hatfield Forest and that way Lara can fish at the lake too and the dogs are welcome. Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend. Thought for today: The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously. Hubert Humphrey

about the job, Debs - that they can't get someone just for the Autumn Term. Glad you are headache free today.

Lol at your girl and her friend fishing - that's great :) Something I just don't get - and I have boys so help me out - is girls and pink. Why pink?  Every school cloakroom I go to looks like an explosion in a candy floss factory! Kack (thanks Lara!)!

I want to be a lady of leisure : ¬ (  Keep trying to talk Laurence into letting me cut down my hours but he says and I quote "You'd do my head in at home all day"

Did couscous and moroccon lamb once for the boys as I wanted them to start eating healthier and cut down the potatoes, Must have done something wrong as they said couscous was tasteless and the lamb would have been better with boiled spuds, couscous went in the bin.

Shez I don't want to be a lady of leisure, not only because money will be tight until I die it seems, having something to get up, get dressed and go out for would have been good for me, I am sure of it.  Just I can't keep my boss hanging on indefinately. I LOVED my job :'(

Will have to find a paper round or something LOL

We don't eat a lot of spuds, mostly rice and pasta but it takes getting used to I guess, usually I cook onions and garlic, mushrooms all sorts and add that to the couscous, but last night the sauce was quite spicey so needed sommat plain to go with it.
