Debs Daily Deliberations 108

3 minute read time.
This day late business is becoming a habit - tut tut and eyes rolled. Sunday...a day of rest, someone puleeeeeeeeeeze tell my puppy that!!!!!! 5am, yes folks 5am - well it was the hubbies fault, he was taking a friend through karate kata's as she is travelling to Canada to compete next week and was her last chance for a quick lesson. She is in the police force and likes training early, so Tony had to be in Ilford by 6am! Which is fine by me usually - I sleep on.....but our stairs are kinda creaky (like me) and that was it....Ollie was awake and so was I. So downstairs and I did try laying down on the sofa with the snuggly throws but Ollie went back to sleep and I didn't. I wish I could fall back asleep but I can't never have been able to. So it was cuppa tea time. The chief instructor of the Karate Association we belong to has flown to Spain in preparation for this years Dan Grading and we were taking a parcel in - yes on a Sunday...........the doorbell went just after 9am and I tried to contain the dogs in the lounge - otherwise they see a window of opportunity to break for freedom and thats it.....I grabbed my hat not wanting to face the stranger in my half bald state and he was now banging on the door - "hold on" I called as I struggled to get my hat on! I am so glad my hair is growing as having to have hats strategically placed around the lounge and hallway and always having my kitchen blinds 3/4 closed (kitchen at front of house) is wearing thin....I live in twilight lol The kids start waking after the hammering on the door and Tony is home by 10.30am. We do some jobs around the house, boring mundane but "normal" stuff and break for a cuppa and a fried egg in a toasted English muffin. I had some jobs around the garden to do and Tony got on with the neverending list of bits and bobs in the house. We are constantly moaning at the kids to take "their stuff back to their bedrooms" anyone else have this trouble.......they treat the dining table as an extension of their bedrooms .....consequently come dinner time I have to yell (OK I don't have to yell but usually do LOL) from the kitchen that dinner is nearly ready and to clear the table! It drives Tony mad, he is much more of a neat freak than me, I love shabby chic or the lived in look........life's too short for housework, but then if someone knocks on the door I have to rush around tidying!!!! Tony then has to fix yet another puncture on Sean's BMX and sort the chain out on Lara's bike as summer school starts for 2 weeks at Lara's new secondary school (both boys are already there) and Sean is biking her there and back - for £2 a day mind lol Dinner was a day late too - we had our pick n mix instead of traditional roast as I had gotten all the stuff in before the outlaws rang on Saturday inviting us to their BBQ (not to be missed, my Father OutLaw does a mean BBQ). Hot n Spicey Buffalo Wings, Onion Rings, Battered Garlic Mushrooms representing the US of A, Pitta and Haloumi (Greek), Paella, Spanish Omlette (Espana) together with some small chicken kebabs in Paprika. I think we even got through this meal without the kids arguing too much - wohoooooooooooo! Tony and Jack walked the dogs as I felt completely drained....the early mornings are catching up on me and Ollie needs to be kept up till 11pm for him to sleep through the night. I had a lovely bubble bath and was in bed reading my book by 8.45pm and asleep just after 9pm..ahhhhhhhh a good Sunday! Thought for today: The only courage that matters is the kind that gets you from one moment to the next. Mignon McLaughlin

I love to read your blogs too - you sound very happy and cheerful all the time.  It can't be easy looking after young children as well as worrying about things.  You are amazing!  By the way I blew my nose just after my last blog and there was a little bit blood - rang the day unit and they told me just to come up - so I have been plateleted up once again - not sure how many I have but hopefully more then eleven now! Blood trans on Friday - v relaxing day reading and snoozing with nurses running around after one all day! - could be worse....

Miss Happy Go Lightly.........but not all the time, the steroids seem to make me a bit "tetchy" and "snappy"....but I try afterall this journey is life-changing and I intend to make the most of it it, even the mundane stuff.

I feel like Stephen King's book "Misery - I am your number one fan", I don't want anyone smashing me kneecaps with hammers now - probably no-one reads that kinda stuff in here all highbrow but I love a good horror book....or did until this happened.....now I am living the dream LMAO

Oh and Valentine, I have for the most part, given up worrying about things.... can't change it so why worry now.  Hope the tranfusion goes well......enjoy the "people watching".

    A good quote:

"It doesn't matter what you read as long as you do read"

ps why do you need to be able to do maths to reply to a blog but not to write one in the first place????

I stay logged in and only ever need to do the maths question if I have cleared cookies etc...which is a good thing - "buttercup" doesn't like math!
