Day 1

Less than one minute read time.

Well today Grandad was diagnosed with bladder cancer.  I knew he was going in for tests with my Mum but we had no idea he is 91 and an amazing man which is why we were so shocked. Feel kinda not with it a bit shell shocked really and the tears keep coming.  Worried about his op in 2 weeks and about him not having any chemo etc Just hope he pulls through this .

    Hello Grandadsgirl.

I have read your posting, and your grandfathers situation sounds very similar to my own although i am only 56, from what you have written it sounds like they will carry out a 'TURBT' op which is totally painless, this will remove the cancer, then they follow up with a period of checks and possible treatment to make sure it doesnt come back, if it does, then you start all over again, and so on.

However i imagine because of his age it will probably slow him up a bit, but that depends on his general health and fitness of course.

I wish him and you the best of luck.

    Pauli.........
