Casulty - the TV programme

1 minute read time.

Did anyone see last Saturdays episode of Casulty?

Sorry, due to my husbands inability to not fiddle, I have just watched it on iplayer to catch up before tonights episode. I paused the tele while I put the kids to bed and rather than leaving the remote control he picked it up and cancelled the delay. Apparently he was just trying to help!

There was a woman who had fallen asleep on the bus on her way home from shopping and was still asleep when the bus got to the depot, as they couldn't wake her they called an ambulance. It turned out her husband had cancer, he too was later admitted to hospital, and they were both taken home as that was what he wanted.

I know exactly how that woman feels, regarding being exhausted, I feel like I could shut my eyes and sleep for a week, but I can't because as soon as I close my eyes I get woken up during the day, and at night it seems like I've just gotten to sleep when the alarm starts sounding time to get up. The time lapsed tells me that 8 hours have passed since I closed my eyes. The problem is I am about half her age.

    Hi Sue

Yes, I did see it and was all set to turn it off if John had noticed what was going on. He didn't, so I continued watching which probably wasn't a good idea. :0(

I'm in the same position as you are except John isn't quite so wobbly now.  One day seems to run into another and I lose all sense of time or even what day of the week it is.  It's the mental strain as well as the physical one which is so tiring.  I overcome it by trying to have a quick snooze while watching tv, so it's a wonder that I actually watched Casualty all the way through last week.

I also 'switch off'' now and then by indulging in my favourite hobby - reading.  Trouble is you have to come back to reality sooner or later, it doesn't go away.

I am younger than that lady on the tv but I sometimes feel I could nod off at the drop of a hat so it's a good job I don't travel by bus.  Driving a car does tend to keep you awake (hopefully)! :o)

I suppose we both have to just hang in there and do our best and TRY to take some time out for ourselves now and then.

Take care of yourself sweetheart.  I'm right there with you.

    Lots of love and *hugs*, Madge x x x x x

Thank you for your reply Madge,

I have the children to tell me daily what day of the week it is - otherwise we would be rushing up to school on Saturday or Sunday and wondering where everyone else was.

They think it is a great learning game - and sometimes I get them to try and spell them.

I also have to write eveything on the calendar and cross off the days so I know where we are, otherwise I think we would be stuck in February (except that the weather is now much warmer :-)).

I take time out playing cards on the computer, its a good job it's not timed because I usually fall asleep during this, and while watching tv. Then wake up and feel guilty, and David glares at me because he hasn't had his cup of tea.
