1 minute read time.

Ok, so this week I have spent a large part of the last 3 days at Derby Royal. Wednesday was a pre chemo run through, signing bits of paper, risks, who to call when etc.
Thursday was to fit a PICC LINE - basically a tube in a vein in my arm up and around to my heart for the efficient delivery of the chemo drugs. Then had to have an xray to make sure it was in properly which then had to be signed off by an Oncology doc before I could go home. They also gave me a big bag of stuff for the District Nurse who I'm going to be seeing quite a lot of.
Lynne got me to the hospital for 9.00 this morning and I settled in for an hour of one drug followed by two hours of two more then an hour of another before attaching a bottle that is slow release of another over the next 24 hours. Then home time. They dispensed anti-sickness tablets early on and thus far there have been few signs of side-effects; a bit of tummy ache and a strange pain both sides of my jaw when first biting on something. By the second bite its gone.
Tomorrow the District Nurse will come to remove the bottle, inject me with some anti sickness stuff and check the PICC line dressings and connections. Then she (or he) will visit every day for a further 6 days for the injections and then changing the dressing on Friday. Calls Wednesday week to take blood samples and then on the Saturday after my next course of treatment the cycle starts again.
I feel good - think what steroids did to Trump when he had covid but I'm sure I'll hit a brick wall at some stage.
I've upped the fundraising target to £1,000 and, with gift aid included, its probably quite near. What great friends and family I have.
