My Mum started chemotherapy last wednesday (5 days ago) for stage 4b cervical cancer. This was an incidental finding following a routine gynae op, she had had no symptoms. She is having 3 different chemo drugs, including Avastin, the others I can't remember. She is on a cycle which runs so she has a day of chemo every three weeks, then will be rescanned.
So after feeling initially well (probably due to the amount of anti sickness and steroids), she is now feeling dreadful, and has actually been readmitted to hospital as they have no idea what is going on. She has been really constipated, which now seems to be passing, but she keeps having dizzy spells, and fainting episodes. Her bloods and tummy X-ray were all clear. We are all so anxious, even though we know she is in the best place, but feel so helpless.
Has anyone else experienced this post chemotherapy? We weren't expecting this.
Thank you in advance xx
