Hello

Less than one minute read time.

I have only just recently joined the website.  Just want to say hi to everyone.  My dad was diagnosed with advance cancer on 30 June 2010.  He was only being treated for a trapped siactic nerve since March but nothing was working.  After being admitted into hospital by our Gp because his blood tests came back abnormal.  We found out he had a primary tumour in his left lung that has probably been there for a while and he knew nothing about it.  A secondary tumour has been found in his pelvis around his hip bone.  Since then my world has fell apart.  Don't know how I feel, numb is the best word.

Numb is a good word - I feel that a lot, I pretend I am coping in front of my mum, let your feelings take their own time and toll.

    Hi, Daddys little girl

Im quite new here too,a one week member! Similar to you, my mum has terminal cancer, diagnosed end June, found out it was terminal 4 weeks ago. Everyone here is really supportive, and I know what you mean about being numb. It's is very hard to face, each day brings different emotions and new problems, but sharing them here means a problem shared is a problem halved.

    Take care, thinking of you.

    Hello Daddy's little Girl,

I am relatively new here too.  Cancer came into my life and it left me feeling totally numb to start with and now I am just slowly trying to get used to the devastating effects it has on my and my Husband's life.

I hope you have some other members in your family that you can share this with, as it is a lot to go through by yourself.

As Sharon says, it is very hard to face and Yes, everyday brings all sorts of problems and feelings.

This site is excellent and I have had so much

help from the people who have been here before

    me.

Keep in contact, it will help you through your Dad's illness.

    God Bless you Both.

    Take Care,

    Carol XXXX

This is the place to be to get help and support, there are members here who are going through the same thing that you are and understand. Take each day as it comes love, it is a scary place to be in right now. Even though now I am a patient I have been in your shoes many years ago with my own dad. Keep posting love, it helps to talk about it with those who understand. I wish you and your dad well...love Carol x
