Well my tour of Peterborough Hospital Departments continued yesterday, with a visit to the Ear Nose and Throat department, who it turns out also do teeth and eyes too, who knew.
To check the weirdness with my left ear since the seizure on the 16th of November, where I can hear myself, talk, chew, breath, etc. (Yes, I now know how annoying that is for anyone unfortunate enough to have to talk to me and now I know what I actually sound like I can only apologise )
Doctor Val checked inside my ears which she described as beautiful (she seemed such a normal person when I first met her too ) I then had a hearing test, where they checked the pressure in both my ears. It turned out the left one, which I have the issue with is with in normal pressure measurement, but the right one I have a perforated ear drum.
Doctor Val says she is happy with my hearing, which was actually far better in the test I had than in the previous weeks test, which is a relief as I work in the Audio Visual world.
She said the weirdness in my ear isn’t directly linked to my tumour, as I honestly thought would be the case, but it should clear up when Cyril is evicted in April. Yeah, go figure that logic and if you do please let me know.
But, just to make perfectly sure all is well, Doctor Val is going to book me in for an MRI Scan on my left ear. As this will be my third MRI Scan in about a month, do you think I should take coffee and cake for the folks in that department? After all I’m going to be on first name terms with half the nice people who work in Peterborough Hospital radiology at this rate.
So thats the latest saga of Cyril, I have another appointment at Addenbrooke’s on the 21st of February with a specialist epilepsy Doctor. Who can hopefully answer my question of, once Cyril is evicted will this ‘cure’ my epilepsy?
So if nothing else, I’m meeting new and exciting people in the NHS and touring the many and varied clinics they hold around Cambridgeshire, or as a friend said ‘bugger me, you’re getting your moneys worth, aren’t you’
Anyway, its nearly lunchtime and my banana toasties sadly won’t make themselves.
