Since Monday 17 August, my journey is going to change.
I was told that my current treatment is no longer effective and that the cancer has spread further in my spine. After 18 or 19 cycles of treatment, hearing those words was incredibly difficult
I am now waiting to find out what treatment I will have next. I don’t know what the next step will be yet, but one thing I do know is that my fight is not over. ️
Whatever treatment comes next, I will face it and give it everything I have. I’m hoping my body will tolerate the next treatment as well as it did the previous one, as I was fortunate to have very few side effects.
I’m still trying to live as normally as possible. I’ve made some wonderful new friends through playing my favourite game — walking football. ️
I have pain everyday, and unfortunately it has become part of my everyday life, but I refuse to let it stop me from living.
The treatment may no longer be working, but I am still here, and I will continue to fight. I will face whatever comes next and keep going for as long as I can. ️
If anybody reading this ever feels they need someone to talk to, someone who understands what this journey feels like, please feel free to reach out. Sometimes just talking to someone who has been through something similar can make a real difference. ️
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
