My Husband (age 78) and I have been cruisers for many years. In 2020 he was diagnosed with squamous cell lung cancer and had a lung resection in 1 lung. The following year he had radiotherapy in the other. Thankfully, to date he has been clear and has regular checks every 4 months). Last year we were able to take a 1 week cruise to the Norwegian fjords, with what we thought was a reasonably expensive travel insurance (£1200).
We have booked a 2 week cruise for this coming November around the Mediterranean visiting Spain and Portugal no flying involved as sailing to and from Southampton. The travel insurance quotes for him are ridiculously high, £2700 for 1 cruise as they would not quote for a multi trip. By the way it was £735 until I added the Cancer and then jumped to £2700.
Considering he has been cancer free since the radiotherapy , it seems extortionate.
Has anyone got any tips or advice please, otherwise we will have to cancel the holiday.
Many thanks
