So...what now ?

Less than one minute read time.
So here I am. It's now October 2008 and having completed the mission that was "Scirocco 2 Morocco" on the 15th September I find myself strangely bereft of anything usefull to do!. It's rather strange that having spent over 8 months planning the trip, seeking sponsors, doing radio and TV...it all seems a little too quiet now.....mmmmmm! I haqve more ideas...lots more, and i am chomping at the bit to start the ball rolling with them, but i am under strict orders to take some time off for a while, not from the GP, but my wife who, bless her heart, has had to put up with my constant ramblings about the drive for the last 10 months since the idea first occured to me. Now then...what other forms of fundraising can you do with a 21 year old Scirocco called Scarlet ? :-)

Wjhat about writing about it - I don't mean on here for free - but have you written a book about it?

Must be a lot of strain on the "watch and wait" but you are coping amazingly and grabbing time with both hands and using it so well - putting healthy people to shame.  xxxx Penny

Thanks for the comment Penny.TBH I am currently starting to look into the possibility of now using the car and trailer as some sort of mobile advertisement for charities involved in seeking bone marrow donations, such as the Anthony Nolan Trust or the ACLT. My idea (vague as it is at the mo!) is to re-logo the car with some sort of eye catching graphics that get over the importance of becoming a donor to those of the 18-40 age group. Installing a large LCD /Plasma screen housed in the trailer section could run audio/video presentations to get the message home and help dispel any misconceptions that people may have about becoming a donor. Maybe we could invite schools and colleges to design the livery that the car could be covered in. I really think that the car would be a great way of getting the message out to the masses.

Regarding the book....watch this space :-)....although it could be some time before I finish it !
