In November we launched our 2024 Winter Picture Festival. Across the site, we know many of our members love sharing pictures from their walks, crafts, pets and paintings. The Winter Picture Festival is a celebration of your creativity, and an opportunity to bring joy to yourself and other members here on the Online Community.
We'd like to thank all members who have shared their wonderful wintery images and share some of them with you today.
Community member BlueBlue shared the lovely sunset photograph we have used as the header image in this blog today. Thank you BlueBlue.
Beautiful skies were featured in quite a few posts, with winkers60 sharing these stunning photos over the last few weeks. It looks like you have some great views winkers60.Your photos are very peaceful to look at, with the exception of the storm damage of course!
Stew titled the below image 'this morning'. We love the juxtaposition between the sharp silhouettes of the buildings in the background and the soft misty greens in the foreground.
In addition to budding photographers, we have also welcomed some wonderful artists to our Winter Picture Festival. Stew has also shared some wonderful paintings of wintery park scenes, we wondered if it was the same place as shown in Stew's photographs. Thank you so much for sharing these with us, it's really inspiring to see your artwork.
Nature pictures including plants, funghi and wildlife have also featured heavily in this years Winter Picture Festival. We have some festive holly, some interesting plant silhouettes and quite the cobweb from jane2511 At least there's no spider to scare anyone Jane!
Some fantastic funghi from WallyB and Kat55 How fascinating is nature?
And these wonderfully structural and delicate plant images from winkers60 were much appreciated too.
We are also particularly fond of this little guy who follows winkers60 round the garden. This brings us joy!
As it's the Winter Picture Festival, we could not also include these snowy images from WallyB
Combining both themes of wildlife and snow, BlueBlue captured this great image of a beautiful fox in a snowy garden. We wondered what foxy was looking for in your pots!
Perhaps the fox was wondering why he didn't have a warm cosy spot by the woodburner, like LottieWat has provided this beautiful canine.
Stay cosy and safe everyone!
We hope you enjoyed the wonderful pictures, and I'm sure you'll join me in thanking our participants for their wonderful contributions! You can let us know what you think in the comments section below.
if you would like to get involved with sharing your creativity on the Community, join our Express Yourself forum. It's not all about photography there, as we have talented artists, writers, and poets all posting their amazing creations. We hope to see you there!
