As the nights draw in and each day ends, we get closer and closer to Christmas. It’s a time where we often look back and reflect on the year that’s been and think of the things we’re grateful for and we're grateful for you - the thousands of members who make this site the true community that it is. To mark that, we’d like to be able to give a little something back.

Throughout the Christmas period we’ll be hosting three prize draws which are all free to enter. We’ll be asking you for a few of your favourite Christmas jokes, traditions and more.

This week, we’re giving away a beauty hamper, kindly donated by Boots, who have been partners with Macmillan for 10 years and raised a massive £16.6 million for us. Boots also have specially trained Macmillan Beauty Advisors who offer face-to-face advice to help people cope with the visible side effects of cancer, helping people look and feel more like themselves again. Additionally, Boots Macmillan Information Pharmacists are specially trained to understand different types of cancer and treatment, answer questions about medication and signpost to other sources of support. To find out more about these services visit the Boots website.

  • My favourite Christmas Tradition is having our ‘practice’ Christmas Day on Christmas Eve! My Sister, Bro in Law and 2 Beautiful Nieces come over! We enjoy eating and drinking, then swapping our gifts, before we sit and watch my Nieces opening their presents from us! Lots of Joy and Laughter, before we say goodbye and then snuggle up in PJ’s ready to do it all again the next day with my other Sister and Bro in Law!

Definitely mums Christmas dinner, always with Yorkshire puddings and even though the dessert that she took out of the freezer first thing is always still frozen in the middle Rofl

  • My favourite Christmas tradition is having breakfast, an Irish coffee (as i cannot eat ) then my Ensures, while the rest of my family have dinner i sit in the lounge with a real ale . Once dinner is done we all sit and open presents with a glass of wine then mainly play board games the rest of the day, finished off with cheese and biscuits in the evening. Great times Slight smile                                                                  Chris x

  • So many lovely traditions. Long may they continue for you all x

  • My traditional Christmas morning is exactly how my mum and dad used to do it when I was little. I make as much noise as possible to get my 2 teenagers up out of bed and we all open our stockings before heading downstairs to see what Santa has left us. I sit back and smile at the surprised faces even from my husband who has no idea what presents the kids have. Happy Christmas everybody.
