Help us shape the Online Community

Here on Macmillan's Community, we want to make sure our online space grows and develops in line with what our members want and need. That's why we're reaching out to you, our valued Community, to share your thoughts and ideas.

Below we have a few polls asking for your vote on how you'd like to see our digital space develop and grow. We would love for as many members as possible to take this opportunity to actively contribute to the future of our Community.

Your thoughts and ideas hold immense value which is why we want to hear from you. By sharing your vote with us, you're playing a vital role in helping us shape the Community and helping others get the most from the site.

More ideas? Why not share them in the comments section below. We'd love to hear from you!

  • The blog section doesn't work.  It needs an overhaul.  In fact, it's not a blog because once you start one, you don't have exclusive ownership of it and others can hijack a personal blog and post an update.  It's frequently used by spammers.  Community News doesn't sit well in a blog.  It needs its own section because it isn't a personal diary. It's a news channel from the Macmillan staff.

  • This website has been ideal for me. I was only diagnosed on 6th June, which seems like an eternity already. It is just so comforting to have contact with people who know exactly what you are going through.

  • Hey  , definitely still around Smiley you're not a party pooper at all, that makes total sense! Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

We would be looking at content in our Community News Blog only, so it wouldn't be within the forums. I understand if you're a member of the breast cancer group, there's lots of lovely, light-hearted content there already to engage with - some threads have been going for years now, which is great to see!

Interesting to hear you feel some people might be getting a little lost within the breast cancer forum - I'd be keen to know a bit more about that if you're happy to share?

  • Morning  , thanks for this - that's really helpful. We know there's an issue with the blogs and other members being able to post in each other's blogs. It's something we have on our list of things to fix rest assured, though these things do take a little time.

Totally take your point about the Community News Blog not being a personal diary and therefore not sitting so well as a blog. Do you think this is just a terminology thing or do you not like the formatting? It's something we'd like to take a look at!

  • Thanks for sharing your feedback  , I'm really pleased to hear you've found the Community to be a comfort. We know how much of a difference it can make to be able to connect with others who understand Slight smile
