Just got back home

1 minute read time.

Having cooked breakfast this morning & washed the dishes, I got ready to go out to meet Carol's cousin and family. Loaded up the car with passengers, coat and a few other things and off we set for about an hour's drive. On arrival we had a drink (Coffee) & a chat, then prepared to go for a walk. Their daughter Emma & her husband James, Kev' (Cousin-in-Law [?]) AKA Dad & myself, leaving 'Granddad' (92), Gareth, our youngest (37), Carol & her cousin Jayne behind. Both Carol & Gareth are suffering with various mobility complaints, BIG TIME, but neither have lost their sense of humor. Granddad :- well at 92 we could not really expect him to go on what turned out to be a route march. The four of us covered about 6.5 miles in two hours. It felt good to get the legs moving and see a few new sights I had not seen before. A very nice light meal was served up after our walk followed by a 'pub quiz'. we stayed with our hosts until about 22:00 then I took 'Granddad & Gareth to their respective homes. Took out the recycling bin for tomorrow's collection, only to have to chase the contents up the road after 45 minutes, the wind took it for a short flight. Oh well, such is life.

I consider myself to be very lucky in the walking department, I had to reduce my walking to a crawl when I was fitted with a catheter & leg bag for at least 4 months. It was driving me 'up the wall', chafing in a certain area we consider very private, it was telling on me. Friends & relations were constantly asking after my health. They were under the impression it was my cancer that was giving me trouble, far from it, it is a condition I have accepted, something which will not get me down. When Radiotherapy starts, that might alter my condition, but not my attitude. I am looking at it as a big challenge which I intend to overcome. I accept that is an easy thing to say, another to master. On that note, i will close, wishing anyone reading this, a very pleasant weekend

Oops. Must get my road tax sorted very soon.

Nite Nite. C.
