My son was at hospital getting a check up today and found out his blood cout is low and means he might not get his chemo on monday. Which i dont know how i feel about that they never really explained. The way i saw it was on monday that would be him half way through it and now we are in limbo. He is getting very tired and grumpy the now but he wont stop he just snaps. Then later on he says sorry but i told him he has to slow down a wee bit. I dont mind him playing with the other kids but you can see he is getting out of breath and he doesnt stop because that would be weird. He doesnt see that i am just trying to protect him he is my boy. My dad has been told that they cannot start his new treatment until he stops being sick. They keep changing the anti sickness pills but none seem to work the now he has lost two and a half stone in three weeks. He keeps saying that he is worried because he says it feels diffrent. He is panicing incase it is spreading and i dont know if thats just it or does he know. He looks ill a shadow of the man he was and starting to get harder seeing him the way he is. I am his baby girl and he trys to put the braveface on but its starting to crack

hi chocolate it sounds like your little boys white blood cells are low ,he really could do with slowing down as if that is the case he will pick up infection more easily . the losing of his temper i can understand as when my were low i was very snappy [just ask my kids lol]make sure none of his friends have any of the usual kids bugs couch colds etc before he plays with them .its very hard to get a child of his age to slow down because bless him he just wants to play with his mates .see if you can bribe him if you must nothing to big but something like if you rest for at least an hour a day after school [if he is still attending ]for a week /month i you can have a treat i know this isnt the best way but he does need to rest so recon it has to be tactics  to have a rest with maybe a nap before playing out or after & to see if there are other games less stressfull he could play with them like some board games or invite one or two over to watch a dvd it may work . i have a son who has bad hearing problems he has had 17 operations on his ears since the age of three & believe me there were times i had to use the bribe .sorry to hear your dads news hope the can stop the sickness soon so he can carry on with his treatment also amid all this chaos please get time for yourself even if its a hot bath with some nice bath smellies & some candles take care love n hugs theresa xxxx
