If you cant say anything nice....

1 minute read time.

Someone mentioned in their blog yet another storm happening on this site. Well I think there will always be a storm of some sort here, were all people arent we....its what we do?? I wanted to remind everyone of something I am sure we all heard as children and it goes a little something like this ''If you cant say anything nice dont say anything at all.''

Anyway back to me because I love nothing more than talking about myself!! (hehe)  Dan and I went to the local Hospice yesterday to talk to a really lovely lady from family support. We had a long chat about everything and she feels there is lots they can offer the children, particularly Cameron at this time. Being 11 he has the most understanding out of all of them. I have to talk to him and see if he wants to go and meet with her next week then we can take it from there. Its one of the things that terrifies me the most about all this...the effect it will have on my children. I want to do everything I can to minimise the impact of this on them and think now is a good time to start. Knowing they can have all the support necessary is a huge weight off my mind.

Other than that nothing else much has been happening. I am seriously considering going back to work now. One thing simply we need the money but I also feel ready.  I am going to try the salon where I was before as they know my medical history and are extremely flexible. If not I will hedge my bets elsewhere or maybe look into something else and carry on doing the beauty stuff at home on friends and family etc.

We are planning to go to WInter Wonderland this weekend, probably Saturday as we want to stay into the evening to see all the lights. We have never been and the kids cant wait. Its great its free to get in and to see Santa so we just have to grab some food and pay for Ice skating....could be fun. Havent been since I was about 13 lol.

So there you have it my fine audience..thankyou for indulging me...youre the best!!

Love Chrissi xxx

    Chrissi,

I so agree with the keeping schtum if you don't like what ya read and am constantly quoting those words to my kids......(that said I've commented on yours so I expect one back later LOL).

As a trained hairdresser & all round beauty type person, if the salon doesn't pan out, couldn't you do mobile hairdressing.  Think of all the people that can't get out easily to the hairdressers.....not only would they be getting a fab cut, they get a visitor for a chat too - BONUS! Plus you can arrange as few or as many bookings as you want.  I not a pro, but can whip up leaflet in no time on my graphics programme if it would help - just think about it.

I know what you mean about money, I only earnt £400 a month being part-time but its still hard to find an extra £400!

We are going to Winter Wonderland on Sunday 20th, its my nieces 16th Birthday and my sis has paid for the kids to go ice-skating.  I am NOT, don't fancy falling over and having my bolts shake loose in my skull - got enough screws loose as it is ;)  I was thinking of hiring a pod on the wheel for us all.

Let me know how it goes and above all, have a fabulous time.

    Love & Strength

Thanks guys. I dont do hair Debs just beauty and reflexology but I have been thinking of really going for it and working from home/mobile. Its just getting started I suppose but it would be the most suitable option right now. I will def let you know how it goes and WW and we will certainly have a good time. As for commenting on your blog I will have to see if its any good first hehe. Although I shouldnt say that they are all fab and I always read even if I dont comment. I just read through your homemade Christmas gift forum.. great idea. I am going to rifle through my recipes and add some ideas myself.

I was probably confusing you with Liz (I am sure she's a hairdresser, good thing brain tumours is you can blame almost anything on them LOL).

    Look forward to the recipes.

I wouldn't worry too much about the youngsters, they're remarkably resilient. (Look up the Lebanese Orphanage study if you want to find out how resilient). My son was 8 when Sue was first diagnosed, and 13 when she died. He's a really nice lad, and doing well in his schoolwork, gets out and socailises, and has joined Mensa and the Quakers.
