    Hi Cherryl

My son Rob has just phoned from Cardiff and told me about the snow. He said the snow has frozen so walking is a bit hazardous. Just hoping the trains are running on Wednesday when he comes home for Christmas!

Hope you have a lovely Christmas and Best Wishes for the New Year.

    Hello Angela

And the same to you, hope you are feeling a little better today.  Tell us which platform Rob is leaving from and we will clear the decks!

Snowed here last night, froze, then snowed again this morning about 06.00.  Still hasn't cleared so guess the old farmer's tale is.....hanging around for more!

All the very best of wishes for a remarkable 2010!!

    Hi Cherryl

Thanks for your comments on my blog. You are right as most of Toni's problems now stem from the medication he is on and I feel the same as you in that I don't know what to say to him! He asked me the other day if I thought he had any hope of beating this.

I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for 21st Jan. Toni has been told there is no treatment he can have as the tumour is inoperable and chemo won't work because he has a fistula and chemo will make it bigger and worsen his quality of life. So basically the hospital sent him home to die.

We are lucky (??) in that we have a great support team. The local hospice provide the palliative care nurse and the onc referred Toni to palliative care consultant after he'd delivered the bad news. Not sure how I'd cope without them - although you just do don't you?

Hope you read this I'm still finding my way round the site and learning how to use it properly and wasn't sure where to post a reply to your comments.

Well it's New Years Eve but hardly feel like celebrating. We have family coming tomorrow. You are right when you say it is difficult for the people you put off coming. They don't see the day to day reality and sometimes can't understand why they can't visit.

I wish you both all the best for 2010 and will keep in touch

    Claire x
