Misdiagnoesed by GP or Hospital Doctors all Cancers

Less than one minute read time.
I am appalled reading some of the blogs at the number of patients that have been misdiagnosed for every type of cancer, my wife been one of them, I now think its time for all these people to let thier voices be heard, so I would appreciate help from everybody who has been misdiagnosed to contact me as I'm putting together a petition to send to the Ministy of Health to ask them to explain why so many patients are not been detected early enough with this terrible disease. The fact that millons of pounds are been spent in awareness campiagns telling people the sooner cancer is detected the better chance you have of survival is a waste of money, if the doctors that you see are not picking up on the symptoms!!! Please let as many people you know to contact me who have had the misfortune to have been misdiagnosed. Thanks Chas Smith

    Hi Chas,

I presented to my GP with a "lumpy" feeling in my throat last December. I told him I was a pack a day smoker and that I enjoyed a few beers. He insisted that it was a throat infection. I,ve had throat infections and I knew this was not one. I asked for a referal to a specialist, he said it was not neccessary and gave me a prescription for antibiotics. Two weeks later when they were gone I went back and insisted on getting a referel. He reluctantly agreed saying I was "wasting my time".

Three weeks after seeing the ENT specialist I had all of my larynx and part of my pharynx removed as he had found a large tumor.

My prognosis is quite good now but the oncologist told me if I had left it a couple of months it would have been too late.

Scary, but I am so grateful I persisted. How many others would have just taken his word and carried on as they were?
