Things That Calm the Soul

Less than one minute read time.

It is sunny here today on the Boston harbor.  I can't see a cloud in the washed out kind of a blue sky that we have.  And little wind, and best of all, about 60 warm degrees.  And I still have roses on my front bushes (wild ones) that I don't know the names of.  But one is red and the other a very deep pink.  Very nice to look at while doing the dishes!

Honey is watching the football game and I am about to get offline and tend to my crafts for 'therapy'.  Very soothing to my soul.  I might even watch a movie here online while I knit...it's a thought.

I have a list of 'to-do' things...but I am slowly not being interested in it anymore.  Almost like none of it matters.  Some of the stuff on the list matters...like putting the stair rail up going down cellar...but the rest is going to be 'as needed," I think.  It is certainly a re-evaluation of what is important and what is not.  Cleaning mental house.  If I ever get 'round to it, I would like to post pictures, too...like Debs.  They are so calming.  And I like calming...lol

    Hi Cella

Like you, I seem to find natural beauty soothing, I think it tends to put things back into perspective. I like the idea that  whatever  has happened in the past, and (hopefully) in the future, the trees in the woods will carry on growing regardless, winter will turn into spring and summer, and doesnt matter how we feel about it- it will happen all the same- so do what is necessary, and the rest can wait.

    take care

    Hi Cella

Not so warm here in SE UK but I know what you mean.

My calming thera[y is to sit in the back room, listening to relaxation music and with the incense candles burning. Bliss!

I have also found that since diagnosis (grade 4 brain tumour) I have noticed the colours in nature far more. The autumn changes this year are amaing and there are still some leaves left on the trees despite the winds we have had. The only thing is that this year I cant go through the piles of leaves and kick them like I used to!!

I can also understand how lists arent important anymore. What gets done gets done and other things arent important. I would rather spend what time I have left with the family instead of doing mundane stuff - not important anymore!

Take care of yourself and enjoy time for YOU

    Lou xxxx

That sounds very pleasant, Celia. The right way to approach life, the right way to get the best out of it. I enjoyed reading your blog.
