Desensitization is over

Less than one minute read time.
Well, since it turned out I was allergic to carboplatin I needed the desensitization to it in ICU. I had it two days ago now and so far so good...no reactions. Not allergic to the paclitaxol either...yahoo!! The doctor who invented this procedure is Mariana Castell...google her...she's legit. She is affiliated with the Brigham and Women's hospital in Boston Massachussetts in the US. The hospital is in the top of its field...you can google it too. Sometimes life IS good. I'm going to rest now, since it is 4am here...I had to take a med for nausea...don't want any of that 'round heah...lol. Hugs...

    Hi Cella

It's sounding good for you ... so glad.  I did have a mild reaction to the carboplatin but it was easily seen to with an injection of anti-histamine before the chemo.  Knowing that there is densentiion treatment though is useful as if they don;t get all the cancer with the surgery in 4 weeks then I know they will suggest another round of chemo and from what I have read you are more likely to get an allergic reaction 2nd time round.

You are an amazingly positive person and I admire your constant blogs and support you always give others. Thanks for being you xxx

Thank you both for your words of support...they are what I come in here for like most of us.  It is a terrible feeling to think you are alone in this mess...which we are not!!  Great fat hugs to you both!

Hi I am a family member and my lovely Mum had Ovarian Cancer.  Her hair has not fallen out yet and she would like me to colour it to make her feel better.  Can anyone give me a safe alternative??  I am not a haridresser and she is not well enough to visit a salon at the moment.

I have no idea about hair color or dye.  Perhaps you could call a salon and ask.  Hopefully someone in here has already answered your question.  And since I have never dyed my hair and now have none to dye, I cannot help you.  Keep looking.  Try the live chat rooms...maybe someone in there can help!  Cella
