I have been on a course to recover and put balance back in my life after lung cancer march this year, two ops april one removing half my left lung and 3 ribs and chemo june and july (which i thought would finish me off ). i have been on the course 11 weeks out of the 12 now and today had to go for a test and talk about how i am feeling. I was over the moon debbie who is one of the two physios said to me that she and the other physio are so pleased with my progress, that i was the one out of the twelve who has made the most improvement, she had tears in her eyes and said how happy she is for me, and how hard i have worked towards this. I could walk for about 5 minutes when i first went there and am now walking for an hour.... and in that hour 6km. I would cry if someone said boo to me i was so depressed, and on monday of this week i was laughin with my colleagues on my first day back to work for two hours. I am still struggling some days and still have pain from the op . Debbie showed me the results today of what i did at the beg and what i did today and it was amazin to see the difference. I am going to keep up with the exercise and see a physio who deals with lung problems, she was recommended by debbie and rang me today to meet up next week ready for the new year.
I still live in fear everyday that this terrible disease will come back, (neg side of me), but am real proud of myself today (pos side). Thanks everyone for your support love a fitter caz than before cancer.
